Just looking over his resume, looks like he significantly improved the offense at every school he coached at with the exception of Auburn (where he was fired 6 games into the season with Auburn at 4-2; Auburn only won one of the 6 remaining games after he left). Was your "he's awful" in regard to recruiting? He's awful
Franklin isn't leaving MTSU and coach Stockstill. I think he is about half way through his contract.Random name, but I was reading the history of the Air Raid offense today, and one of the big standouts in the development of the system was Tony Franklin, who is currently OC at MTSU. He was on staff at Kentucky with Mumme and Leach, coming from high school to help develop the system. After getting fired from UK, he ended up teaching Rush Propst his offensive system, as well as selling his entire playbook and techniques to coaches all across the country. If we're getting desperate and looking to spread the field with a lot of passing, may be an interesting person to look at. Would be cheap. I can't speak to his recruiting prowess (or lack thereof).
He's a great coach. Several years ago Coach Franklin was in the recruiting services industry, our owner sold him a recruiting services franchise which he eventually sold for over a million dollars before he started teaching HS coaches his offensive air raid system that was popular with Mumme at Ky. He's kinda the Godfather of the spread offense and has sold his ideas to thousands of HS coaches over the years. We speak with him several times a month as he's always been a friendly proponent of our services, he's a great coach just doubt that the timing and situation is right for him.Random name, but I was reading the history of the Air Raid offense today, and one of the big standouts in the development of the system was Tony Franklin, who is currently OC at MTSU. If it makes you feel any better, I heard Mizzouri women were yelling "you're next" to the men's team when they were leaving the court after beating the Lady Vols. I hope that's plenty motivation for the men to thump them on their court (hopefully worse than they thumped UGA, but not likely).Several times today I’ve gotten a little concerned about this b-ball game.
Then I’m like oh yea.... We’re elite.
Stock up on Swiss Cake rolls...we gonna be a while. I’m thinking Pruitt might be waiting until the day after NSD, so we will have a huge splash to continue the momentum of the 2019 class.I'm getting board with this place. All you all do is come in here and complain that we don't have an OC but you never do anything about it!
