I was not offended. She has had a couple of bone heads for boyfriends but thankfully those didn't last long. She is dating a nice young man right now that I haven't decided if I am going to kill him or not.
I would definitely go with Kill…. Nobody is good enough for our daughters.

While I agree in principle, my FIL did not kill me so I may be in a pay it forward kind of situation at some point.
My wife didn't know her father so I don't have that weak excuse holding me back when it comes to my daughter

Lucky!

Actually, my FIL is probably the least intimidating man I have ever met. I don't doubt he would kill me but he would need help cause I can't imagine him actually being able to pulpit off physically all by his onsies.

No, you're @Weezer 's daddy. @Jackcrevol is his mother.

Good try son. @Weezer and @Jackcrevol are a different part of the VFL family tree.

Where’s my houseboat boy? The parties are already being planned. Need an all weather projector and really big screen to watch basketball and baseball on the lake…

@InVOLuntary don’t make me ground you…you really don’t want me to tan that hide of yours either. 😎

I love Generational condescension. It makes the 'linneals squirm defensively.

@Weezer you stay on your part of the tree, moran.

I literally wrote a reply to that, thinking about a grave, riffing on your daughter's boyfriend, him getting a reprieve. Just before hitting reply, I imagined you replying with TWSS and imagined how awkward I would have made things...

You see? We do love and respect you Glitchy.

I needed to hear this today.

I've got a 2-year-old boy and a 3-week-old boy. It's a slog right now.

I've got "the days are long" part down pat. That is my life. But the "and the years are short" part hasn't kicked in yet. The two years as a parent thus far have been long. Really, really long.

Enjoy every single moment and day. My children are now 20 and 17. It’s just a blink of an eye.
Don’t ever look forward to when they are going to be able to do this or that…live for this very moment.
Don’t ever be too tired to do anything with them.
You can be tired when they are in college…😎

The passing of ML hit me very hard. Mainly because I am just 1 year younger than him. My Father died at age 63. My Grandfather at age 67. Dad from lung cancer and Grandaddy from a heart attack. My Grandaddy died when I was younger and my Daddy died when I was 17. I didn’t have kids until age 39 and 42. I want to be around for a lot longer. I want to eventually have grandkids too.

I tried to do everything that I could with my kids and I still missed some things…I absolutely don’t regret taking off work whenever there was something going on. I talk to too many parents that don’t take off. As they get older, they will have memories of working and not of an unforgettable experience with their children…sometimes work is unavoidable. But at the end of the day, work really is not what our lives should revolve around.

My best advice is to see every moment from your kid’s viewpoint. The joy and wonderment will keep you young and vastly entertained. My kids still laugh about all the “childish stuff “ that I have done on vacation or field trips or you name it.

We’re going skiing after Christmas and I love it. I started skiing because of my kids when they were little. Now it’s something that we really like to do together.

Sorry, not really sorry for the diatribe. 😎
