When the pitchers feel they do not have a defense behind then they'll pay more and make more mistakes. Bad pitching this year makes perfect sense with this defense

Well…. you’ve got to get there first. I was preaching patience about 15 games ago but expected it to start improving somewhat. Somehow looks to have gotten worse.

That’s not at all what’s causing them to miss their spots and leave everything over the heart of the plate. The defense has been awful, but the pitching has been worse considering the talent. It’s not because the defense is bad. They’re pitching bad because they’re pitching bad.

I played competitive basketball into my late 40s. Pretty Holly isn't a coach. She'll get you a sweet 16 but no further. She needs great players to overcome her lack of coaching ability. Unfortunately her recruiting is subpar.

Speaking of that, I would counter with Arkansas. Good lord, these people are obsessed with hating UT.

Got into a war of words with one on the bird app after they, of course, decide to blow up UT’s social media after the baseball series. This dude is convinced not only is Fayetteville a better city than Knoxville, but Arkansas is a better state than TN.

Am I just a TN homer, or is Knoxville pretty easily a top 3 SEC city and TN is pretty easily one of the top 4 SEC states (behind Florida, Texas and Georgia)?

I’ve lived in Arkansas and traveled the whole state. I can attest that whole state can’t hold a candle to the city of Knoxville. Never mind the state of Tennessee and my son was born there.

Staff can't close with elite talent. Not enough traction with high schoolers and top portalers want to win championships right away. The LVs aren't one of the "it" teams, and the brand isn't what it was. So the coaches have had to settle for the best they can get.

I recall driving to WY listening to 3030, 2003. Greatest hip hop album of my time. Perhaps TCQ and Blackstar are close behind. Handsome Boy Modelling School is in there.

Recruiting is what killed it for me. No high school recruits this class, and last year's high school class has all left. I made this point in the LVs forum and the response was she has one recruit in the '24 class, on recruit in the '25 class, and one in the '27 class. I'm not sure how that makes it all better, but apparently some think it does. We're relying totally on the portal. I see trouble ahead.
