Staff can't close with elite talent. Not enough traction with high schoolers and top portalers want to win championships right away. The LVs aren't one of the "it" teams, and the brand isn't what it was. So the coaches have had to settle for the best they can get.

Doesn't sound promising for the future if she can't recruit and can't inject excitement into the program for highschoolers to take notice.

Called a rebuilding year. If you expected anything even remotely close to last year then you are insane. We lost a ton of production.

Pretty Holly is Pretty Holly. I think this upcoming season will be pretty bad. Borderline tournament team bad. Not enough to get her fired. The 24-25 season will be the bad one to get her fired. JMO.

Barnes has proven he can do more with less. I'm anxious to see the new guys. I don't think Barnes has replaced assistants that got better gigs with equal or better talent and I think that's hurting him both from a recruiting standpoint and a coaching standpoint.

As for Pretty Holly, she's proven that she struggles to win with talent and the talent seems to be on a slow steady decline. When they do pull the string, do they keep with the same formula and hire based on former lady vol status and gender or do they go get the best coach they can get?

My thoughts here are that Original Holly had to be given a chance because Coach Summit named her the successor. When that did not work out, I think we did a pretty weak job with the search to replace her, but I was willing to give her a chance. The recruiting is going to be her demise, almost definitely. I hope they look outside the program for her eventual replacement. That will be very tough sell to the big old money LV donors. We will see.

I think that AD DW will hire the best coach for the Vols. The CJH hiring saga is the perfect example. Everyone thought that Tennessee had to settle. That’s totally false. He went and hired the perfect coach for Tennessee. I can’t think of any coach that I would rather have as the Tennessee football head coach than CJH. He is perfect for us. For the first time since CPH was fired, I am proud of our head coach.
(kiffin, dooley, butch, pruitt, don’t hold a candle to our coach. They were all embarrassing as representatives of our university.)
