This might be the one time Greg Stankey is an ally for Tennessee athletics. He wants as much money for the conference as possible, and having one of your rising programs hammered does the conference no good. I think he’ll be an ardent defender of ours today.

We need Dillone or multiple guys to be downhill scorers…. It will free him up for a lot more shots and make him much more efficient.

My thoughts here are that Original Holly had to be given a chance because Coach Summit named her the successor. When that did not work out, I think we did a pretty weak job with the search to replace her, but I was willing to give her a chance. The recruiting is going to be her demise, almost definitely. I hope they look outside the program for her eventual replacement. That will be very tough sell to the big old money LV donors. We will see.

Ouch - baseball team feels like the pre-Tony V years. They just looked lost right now. No fun to watch!

Last year’s baseball team wrote checks this baseball team couldn’t cash.I’m optimistic for the future but I’ve kinda called it a season this year so the losses don’t hurt as bad…it’s just “ehh” for me

I would rather us move away from the typical 7 footer type…. Get some 6’9-6’11 type of players that are quick, agile, athletic, and can guard multiple positions… move towards a new age style of basketball.

LV’s big money donors is a cult..they will ruin it just like old heads did for the football team thinking they know what’s best

I sympathize with them, a little bit. They don’t want a second legacy started in the program, and that’s an understandable sentiment. You see it all the time when people lose family members. It’s not easy to move on.

But you have to move on. I know it’s been Pat’s program since basically day one, but it can’t be that forever. I doubt Pat would have wanted it that way, either.

That’s honestly the best way I’ve ever seen it described..I understand not wanting change but the game is always evolving…and it should be factored in…we wouldn’t be having this conversation if Tyler summit just kept his D**k in his pants..we all knew he would be here after pat was gone..but he’s got too much baggage now.

We don’t need a big guy. We have 3 guys that can play that position. The other addition will be a 4 and/or a PG.

Yep…. I think she may have earned another year but her recruiting is atrocious…. Time to move on…. I wish we had made the move this year…… can’t believe we brought in Ace Strickland as a transfer…. Our only big recruit/transfer she has gotten is Rickey, imo.

I kinda like seeing the slightly shorter, but more athletic bigs.

Aidoo is 7'
Awaka is 6'8" (may grow a bit more too still)
JP Estrella is 6'11"
Cade Phillips is 6'9"

All of them far more athletic than Uros, I like my chances with those guys developing. Awaka is the only one outta the 4 that's not a top 150 national player too.

Need to understand that defense is good but most pts win. Need scorers not 7 ft foul machines

Part of the issue is that apparently, for whatever reason, the recruiting of the '25-'27 classes appears to be really good. We have commitments from elite players and are in really good shape with more elite players in those classes. But why that has not translated into the '22-24 classes is strange. I do not know the answer. We have to add enough through the portal and do a better job coaching so that they remain solid in those '25-'27 classes.

I wasn’t commenting specifically about KJH (though I fear you may be right), I was just trying to convey that the LV donor class’s inability to consider hiring outside the family doesn’t just stem from mere stubbornness.

I do believe they will come to realize that letting the program deteriorate is more of a disservice to her memory than letting someone else succeed on the court that bears her name. Eventually, and hopefully not too late.

They definitely have the talent to make a run… the problem in SEC baseball is that they play the equivalent of Georgia/ Alabama every single weekend…. If they get to a regional…. They can definitely go on a run similar to ole miss last year.

That is far in the future…. Will this same players still feel the same about the Lady Vols when it comes time to sign? They will start getting recruited heavily coming up and it will be difficult to keep them.
