They definitely have the talent to make a run… the problem in SEC baseball is that they play the equivalent of Georgia/ Alabama every single weekend…. If they get to a regional…. They can definitely go on a run similar to ole miss last year.

Sankey front-loaded the schedule. Pretty clear. And pretty much everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong.

OTOH, we played in football last year four team that combined won 6 of the last 7 national championships. Baseball hasn't done that. Florida is the only one of those we've played on the diamond. I'm not a fan of this exaggerated trope about "everyone is GA and AL," and it always strikes me as insecure and an underhanded swipe at football. Like, why try to say it is "so much harder" than football? Too little man complex for my taste. It's a damn tough league. Stick with that.

Pisses me off that Saban "reached out to him" to discuss this hearing, under pretense of discussing Bammaw's DC job. He had no intention of hiring him, but discussing the faked-up candidacy "required" him, of course, to discuss this case and thus to counsel him. Scumbag.

Pass me by with that idiotic lecture…. The SEC is a tougher baseball conference than a football conference….Those championships were won by 3 different teams…. Since 2017( no champion in 2020) 4 different sec schools have won the championship with 6 total different teams playing for championship…. That is crazy in a sport like baseball. That’s even leaving out Tennessee out which is one of the best teams in history….We still have a chance to win it all bc these games don’t matter if we squeeze into a regional.

My morning opinions:

I hope Donde sets that hearing room on fire.

This is the 'lower your expectations' season for baseball. The Vandy series will reveal where they are heading for the rest of the season.

Glad Santi is coming back. Now, if CRB will use his talents better along with ripping Birmingham for allowing refs to enable other teams to beat the crap out of him in most games, they could improve. Defense only goes so far, CRB needs to recruit and provide the freedom for guys to score the ball. If you require a guy to be defense first to get playing time, which has been the case historically, you detract from some existing skillsets that can help you win.

Can't wait for football season. There are no deficiencies there. Offense first with improving contain type D. Just get "enough" stops. CRB should pay attention.
