Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

^This a 1000 times. WE are the ones who change the world - every single one of us and it's our responsibility to do it right. The bad actors make it a nasty one sometimes but the good ones make people of all colors, ethnic backgrounds, religions, political persuasions etc. realize that there's good and bad in every group. Humans are the same when you really dig past the superficial distinctions. Once humanity really starts to see this and understand it we will see a much better and much more peaceful world for every single one of us.

Great posts Maxwell and Prof.

We've had Heisman Trophy winners who have stolen BEFORE (Cam Newton)their win...any that did it after? :dunno:

Seem to remember tebow stealing our soul on 3rd and 4th and short a few times in 2006.... Well him and the ref who called the silly roughing the qb early in the third quarter.

I was looking at TE receptions across the league and thought I'd post this. It's from cfbstats and I only counted the players listed specifically as TEs. Florida was a huge change last year and of course losing Rivera hurt us as well. I was surprised to see that apparently neither A&M or Mizzou have been using their TEs all that much.

So, while we're on...basically every subject ever...crime stats for Tennessee College Campuses were released a little less than a month ago for 2013.

Surprisingly, Vanderbilt's was higher in nearly every category, compared to UT.

Go Vols. Free Ferg. 7 wins for 2014. Dog Farts. Racism is bad.

Anybody think that Oregon wont be as succesful this year due to the 10 second snap delay? Im not saying thats the case, just wondering if anybody thought that way. I remember seeing a lot of false starts not called because they never got set. Also the teams they play will have a little more time to get set.

Dude, not cool. We're supposed to feel bad for him because he's manic depressive now.

You don't need to feel sorry for me. I'll be fine. I don't look down on people because of race though.

You guys should feel sorry for the San Jose Sharks. They're about to blow a 3 game lead and lose the series in a best of 7.

Sharks are good for nothing freeloaders mooching off the govt. I'll never feel sorry for them. They deserve anything they get.

:)

It'll probably get worse now that jimmy frank isn't there to try to cover them up by talking to victims after the crime...

I thought they decided against that rule?

This didn't happen as of late march

None that I can recall stole something after winning, OJ decapitated two people.

Yeah that was pretty meanspirited of him  I guess I should have qualified it with "That returned for another season"...But that would have eliminated Cam Newton from the conversation

They didn't even table it for discussion after Bieliema's embarrassing analogy... An internal poll showed 80% of college head coaches were against the change...and Saban

Thanks. Maxwell's was so spot on, imo.

ChattaTNVol - thanks for posting that graph. I wonder what the deal is with the lack of TE usage.

I think the reason us and FL had a drop off is because we lost our go to guys at the position. They lost Reed and Hines (combined 68 receptions in 2012) and as noted we had a helluva drop off from Bray/Rivera.

Here's a table of who we threw to and how well they were able to catch what was thrown. The yards and catches tie out but there's 24 attempts which were deemed throw aways (or INTs I assume) so they're not included in the targets numbers.

Like that Devrin was at %100 and averaged over 13 per.

To be fair, the graph doesn't assign blame. Worley had his fair share of one-hoppers last year. But to your point, I hope Smith gets that cleaned up this year. Jones seems to like having guys to rotate.

91.25% of the targets went to the top 8 guys so, assuming for purposes of this exercise it's roughly the same this year, who do you think will be our top 8 guys?

My guess in no order (assuming Howard comes back and no one gets injured):

1. North
2. Pearson
3. Lane
4. Malone
5. Helm
6. Hurd
7. Howard
8. Wolf
