it's his team. if I was the new coach my thought is "don't make that decision for me". He's understandably disgruntled. he didn't commit a crime.

Did he buy the university? If not, then he’s PART of the team. And when you do an INDIVIDUAL action, you face the INDIVIDUAL consequences.

last thing I will say about this-- he could have worded his venting a different way and would still be on the team right now.
He could have easily said how upset he was that he was not being allowed to play and felt lied to ... You make your point. He took it beyond too far and is now paying for it. Temper your actions with Wisdom.

There is speculation that he was dismissed before the rant and that was why he was so angry.

I guess its 'Ah Okay' to call JJ a mental case and describing his depression to players in a fashion that divided the ****ing team. That's why JJ wasn't on the sideline. Yeah, he may have got away with a lot more but Darrell Taylor is still on the team after aggravated assault??? And that's worse than calling out Hoke and butch for running three damn plays??

You think Dooley hurt us you wait till more **** comes out. Our next coach is going to be paying a lot of his salary to mend bridges instate.

Rape someone? Ok. We'll even keep that quiet.

Assault someone? Ok.

Call out coaches that are already fired? Ah hell no. Execute the man.

I want to know why he wasn't allowed to play. And they told him he wouldn't be traveling to a bowl game if they went to one?

By all reports he basically quit after his injury. Maybe those rumors are wrong, but you can't just stop showing up for weeks and then show up whenever you feel like it.

Dude, do you think any player on any team could survive blasting the entire coaching staff like that? Even without the prior baggage he had.

Maybe. I’m not sure. I think it was an incredibly immature thing to do. I just don’t see see how THIS incident rises to level of “that was the last straw.”

I’d go indefinite suspension and let him earn his way back under a new regime or not.

That's basically what this is. He'll have another shot

SIAP

Tennessee
Names: Dan Mullen, Matt Campbell, Scott Frost, Greg Schiano, Mike Norvell
Prediction: Matt Campbell. Mullen has a difficult decision, as it’s perceived he’s Tennessee’s top choice. But the tricky part here is that Florida State could open, which even Peyton Manning would agree is an exponentially better job than Tennessee. Does he wait out FSU? Campbell’s buyout is huge ($9 million), but thank God for the SEC Network and creative contracts.

Personally, I would bet money on either Mullen or Campbell. Thamel is very plugged in with Currie.

JJ did JJ. Now he pays the price. With the other incidents, it all adds up to bye-bye.

All the turmoil and the breakdown of the team occurred with the start of last season and blew up with Hurd's leaving. The players made their share of mistakes. But you can't keep lying to guys to placate them as well as denigrate them publicly and expect everything to remain hunky dory. Add in the team council BS. Disunity leads to losing and even more tension.

Any player with an attitude and not willing to sell out needs to go now. New sheriff. New deputies.

Mmm hmm.

Sad fact is JJ doesn't need TN. TN needed him. He just told a sh*tty employer to shove it and can now enter the league as a UFA a year early. He'll get a decent shot to be a pro and I wish him well.
