Morris built the Clemson offense and landed Deshaun Watson. He took over a SMU team coming off a 1-11 season where they were outscored 496-126. He has them headed to a bowl and at 7 wins in 3 seasons and almost beat mighty UCF this year.

Morris is a well respected coach, he could get a good DC.

The number one thing for me for the next coach is

Will they demand their teams play physical football???


I see no reason to believe he will and you just can't win more than 7-8 games a year in the SEC without being physical

Listened to an interview with him on Dallas radio a year or so ago talking about Watson. It was impressive fwiw.

ATP, I would, too. Our last coach is evidence that the staff the coach surrounds himself with is paramount. Pruitt could at least bring a solid staff with SEC ties. Plus, he can recruit pretty darn well.

I just want a mean physical football team. I think he would have done that.

pretty much the highlight of Vol football the last decade was the mystery of the last coaching searches. Long for the glory days of Air Force's coach turning us down before we hired Dooley.

If Jimbo is out at FSU, UT better be the first phone call he receives leaving the FSU campus.

He knows what it takes to win in this league. He'll have a top staff and he'll recruit on an elite level. Will get us back to power football.

The lack of defense his team played against Memphis a couple of weekends ago was astounding.

No teams in that conference play defense. It is harder to recruit defensive players and the good ones are going to schools in smaller conferences. It's not that they aren't trying, they literally, no matter how good the coach or recruiter, can get those kids to those schools.
