No. We have backstory with Kiffin. But at this point, I'd consider Petrino. He wouldn't shy away from the job, we could get a good deal and he'd be intensely motivated to win in the SEC. Bring in a GM to oversee compliance, add a stringent moral turpitude clause to his contract and we've mitigated risk.

I get the argument against it but Lane screwed up and took his dream job that ended up being a nightmare.

He is one of the 5 best offensive minds in all of football.

He turned FAU around that went 3-9 last 3 years and they didn’t lose a conference game.

Kiffin would kill to beat Nick Saban and there aren’t many coaches that would relish that chance like Kiffin.

He’s grown up and sure he’s a risk but the reward if it works ends with him having a statue.

Nah. He’s struggled with a Heisman trophy winner this year. He is a washed up bum with baggage at this point.

Everybody loves a redemption story, but JoeyFresh ain't redeemed yet.

I am tired of reading this doom and gloom nonsense. All we need to do is win a few games and no one will remember this. I watched a puff piece on penn state a few weeks ago and no one remembers the bama coaching debacle presaban

Ok. Let me know where Saban and Franklin are and where in the eff anyone believes we will be capable of hiring them. While we wait I would like to let Tee Martin take a stab at stocking our roster and rebuilding our PR.

I really just don’t understand why Currie (or the Haslams) will be allowed to hire our coach still. I really think there’s about to be a colossal backlash from boosters, season ticket holders, and merchandise sales.

When hiring coordinators sometimes you get Muschamp and sometimes you get Smart. Not sure which he would be but I like his resume a lot

With that being the case, your logic is flawed in being adamantly against a coach who has improved a moribund program like SMU.

They just don't give a damn. I thought for sure Currie would be fired today. But it's status quo. Haslams have complete and utter control over everything. They're going to force another horrible hire on us. And we are powerless to stop it. We stopped Schiano but that's our one veto.

It's tougher than we think. A coach wants to know who he is going to work for. Perhaps it's better to let Currie make this hire and let the dust settle later with him.

Our incompetent AD has a 5 million dollar buyout.

We don't mitigate risk; we invite it.

Curious to why you think Kirby was better suited to be head coach?

I have no idea what their assets are in that area.

Because Kirby is going to Georgia.

Any coach that comes here is in a hole already with the Haslams running everything.

Bruin, what are your thoughts on the Halsams being attributed to the down fall of TN football. Mind you Jimmy Haslam owns the Cleveland Browns right now. Surely you can see they have no clue on what to do when its comes to running a football program.
