They were here when Fulmer was. People say the same thing about Jerry Jones too and are right but he also has a bookcase full of rings. I have worked for a Haslam type. Suckiest period of my life when he got so controlling you couldn't breathe, but he hired good people and they worked around his crazy ass. It can happen here too. That kind of money and influence takes decades to replace. For now the only hope I have is a lucky hire.
Man SVO and Reese are actually having a good realistic conversation.
Theres Saban, Urban, and Dabo.
< insert a mile >
Then everyone one else. Even Jimbo, Chip and some other really good coaches. Teams have to quit firing these coaches for not winning national titles.
We're being hammered now. We've been piled on all year for every little thing. We're the most ridiculed, vilified and despised program in CFB. We could hire Pope Francis and a staff of Benedictine Monks and the media would hate the chants.
So we might as well do what's best for us and ignore the noise because the whole sports world is going to find fault with anything we do.
It makes zero sense. His players loved him. He was great with boosters and city. He won championships. Media loves him. He can recruit. He can hire Chavis as DC again. Just needs an OC. He will be energized to prove people wrong. He is another great fit for that locker room right now. Who knows maybe even bring Moffit and thomas from lsu. It's literally the hire that would have media back in love with us
Doug Gottlieb is one of the worst sports reporters in the business. Listened to Clay Travis on his show, and Doug basically yelled the entire time. Its funny that he bashed UT in that exchange, but also retweeted the Cowherd segment where he and his cohost agreed that the AD flubbed up. Ive never liked Gottlieb. Theres a reason he was booted from ESPN, then to CBS, then to Fox. He was turned down by OkSt for the head b-ball gig and has been a salty gnome since. BTW, Doug still believes Tony Romo could be relevant in the NFL.
Agreed. If he would shut up on twitter it would go along way into showing he's grown up.
Instead he and POTUS continue to show their childish Maturity levels daily.
Gottlieb really did get butthurt in the interview. It was so dumb we he tried to argue that clay didnt know more than him about the athletic department at UT. Like he got mad that clay pointed out that the haslams are ruining our program lol
You made some compelling points until you said hire Kiffen.Come on man, we both know when Fulmer was hired the Haslams didn't have as much say as they do now.
Not to mention the University was actually run by people who were controlled by the Haslams.
Look at the facts. who is the person credited to running Fulmer out. John Currie. Who is John Currie a puppet to? Jim Haslam.
Seriously invol..How would that work?.. We have a 30-50th ranked class this year and then even worse next year because staff has to have time to find, evaluate and court players, to add to a horrid roster already. What sane human being is going to take the job, and try and turn that around after the 2018 season is done. Which would probably be a nightmarish 1-11 or worse with lame duck interims running it. This might be the stupidist idea of all time really, and I know you are not stupid, I'm not calling you that, but you are talking about a REAL self imposed death penalty. That is insane..
