My worries about DeBord are fading away. Anybody else?

My only concern was not having QB coaching experience. Still have that concern, but not for this year. Dobbs will be fine, it's the freshmen development I'm worried about

I think the progession of the fr qb's have been going rather well according to practice reports. Now, obviously not gametime situations, but this is not like what we have been hearing from past 2-4 years.

Haha how any weeks into their first practice season? We won't know how well they've been coached until well into next year.

Interesting quotes from Hubbs on 104.5 today (courtesy of VQ):

I'm predicting a top 10 passing defense this year. Barnett and Maggitt will hurry QBs on every passing down and Sutton/Martin will make it extremely difficult for them to complete passes against us in the small window they have to throw.

What makes the Maggit/Barnett season even more impressive is they did it with a DT combo of OBrien, and the two Williams. What happens when you make the DT combo OBrien, Vickers, Tuttle, Williams, Quay and KMAC......then your having Vereen, Lewis, Phillips, Mixon, Weatherd, Taylor, and Butcher providing extra reps off the edge... Oline coach nightmares

Apparently Dormady is going to be a stud. I believe Debord will be fine it that regard.

Of course, that is why I said their progression so far. Again, the feeling has been Much more positive this spring with the QBs than the past few years. I remember reading the QB reports from the last few spring practices and cringing a little.

If we do anything resembling a power run game, I'll be excited.

Yep. Give me a few formations with Dobbs under center, more slant passes, fewer swing passes and jet sweeps, and the ability to score touchdowns in the red zone and I'll consider DeBord a huge success.

I thought the DeBord freak out was crazy to begin with.

Butch isn't going to do anything to derail this Big Orange Train

Glad to see that Thomas can put this behind him. He's a good kid but maybe just a little too trusting and naive. I'm ready to see if he can pick up where he left off and keep putting the pressure on Crowder for the starting center spot.

Certainly haven't been any "whose idea was that" sort of moments this Spring. My test will come when we have a critical 3rd or 4th down and we do (or don't do) something awesome--like get a first down.

I believe we will if we can get some push in the middle. That was sorely lacking last year. Every time it was blown up instantly.

Hopefully Robertson can be a road grader for our backs this year. He certainly has the strength for it.
