I just don't think he's going to have to Kiffin his way back up to HC, if fired. He'd have millions in buyout money coming his way so he could afford to be selective. It's possible he could end up as UT's OC-- but it seems like a longshot to me.

Me, too. And if DeBord wants out, I think CBJ could promote Z to OC. Some people think CBJ will make big changes, but I think he'll resist making any changes at all.

Sheridan is a QC guy, not a GA or coach IIRC

Sheridan as out of time last year, I think. He's a normal paid staff member. QC coach of some sort I thought.

That thought is not that off base. Gary Parrish talks about assistant basketball coaches getting higher salaries with the expectation that they are to use it in recruiting.

Why? I thought Jancek would stay because of Butch's loyalties and he kicked him straight to the curb for Shoop. Same deal on Lawson. CBJ is clearly not afraid to make bold moves involving long time friends and associates.

I believe if he did get fire it wouldn't be over not hiring a OC. It would be because we had a really bad year and even then I am not so sure he would get fire fired in 2017. Say he doesn't hire an oc and goes 10 -2, you think he gets fired? I don't. Got to be more than because he didn't hire an OC like most of us like for him to.

Firing Lawson was a pretty big mistake though. And I'm not sure Jancek gets fired if it wasn't for the mistress thing.

Dear lord dude...did you ever take a second and wonder why Arizona is not doing good this year? Maybe injuries have devastated their offense?...You think you might want to take into account what you have seen the man do over many years, instead of just this year? Rich Rod is a really good offensive coach.
