Supposedly Hart has completely handcuffed Barnes on the recruiting trail and is forcing him to recruit cleanly to avoid any more embarrassment for the program. There will be enough bad losses to take care of that, however.

There is no such thing as recruiting "cleanly" in college basketball. That kind of makes sense now.

Until we start recruiting better this will be the norm

You do realize Chattanooga is really really good? This isn't football. TN was favored because of the name on jersey and Vegas knew random joes would pick that but anyone that follows basketball knew Chatt was the better team because of seniority vs freshman and Sophs. Chatt is a team that can do some serious damage in Tourney if they get there

He was offered the South Carolina job last year but declined. He has a lake house near the GA/SC border. Has had multiple opportunities to leave, but hasn't.

His daughter was a cheerleader at Arizona and his son is a senior HS QB commited to Arizona.

Sounds to me that the he and the family love Tucson and are invested here.

He does want to come back closer. He just didn't want that particular job. It wasn't the right fit. It would be odd if he took an OC job instead of a HC job but there's multiple folks saying he would seriously consider it. so he may be trying to get out while he can or maybe he thinks being the SEC spotlight will helps him get a better job than his Has now even possibly replacing Butch if Butch were to leave

This. UTC is really really good. Maybe as high as a 10 seed.

Going to the son's preseason B ball game and watching the Vols in between games. Gave my tickets to a family of 4 who had never been to Neyland before. Kids are 12 and 8 and a month before they had driven by Neyland and the kids asked their dad if they would ever be able to go to a game there. Their dad said one day they would. When he came by to get the tickets this morning, he said when he told them it was like Christmas morning. Guys, I feel really good right now. B ball with son and Vols on TV in the afternoon and then more B ball. Making other kids happy with first game ever at Neyland with their dad. Good stuff.

Now this is Priceless!

Go Vols! I'm honestly expecting a four quarter nail biter today because of our injuries on our defensive line and because we are facing Kentucky for the first time in a long time when a lot is on the line for both teams. But I am expecting a win!

And as much as this pains me, go Gamecocks!

Guess we should go ahead and fire Barnes. He's had plenty of time. Next up. Smh.

I am very puzzled about his lack of interest from higher ranked players. His reputation has been as a great recruiter that sometimes falls short on game day. Now, it seems like he is a mediocre recruiter who falls short on game day.

We lost by one play at A&M. Hard for me to think Cam, JRM, or Kirkland wouldn't have made one play of a difference in a shootout. Injuries clearly lost that game and that isn't even looking at the OL injuries that day.

what cost us the a&m game was butch jones' lack of courage to go for two points and the win after our last td. we had mo on our side and a tired defense facing us. imo that loss is on Jones as is last years Okla. game when he kicked the fg in the 1st half instead of going for the td. and Fla loss when the offense went into a prevent offense. Butch needs to get out of the Midwest coaching culture and grow some b**ls.

I think there is a bit of truth to the above. I said when he was hired there would be a learning curve moving to big boy football for him. It's been a long curve but maybe he'll come out of it soon.

Don't know what you drive, but the screen name seems appropriate.

I personally think the turnovers and worn out defense that was depleted by injuries and was getting gashed in the fourth quarter had more to do with the loss. Going for two there was a 50/50 call. We go for it and miss and edyeary-vol would be calling for CBJ's head for being too aggressive when we could have easily tied it and played overtime.

Awesome!!! The same thing is what got my wife and kids hooked on Tennessee everything. We had someone offer tickets on a Friday night at 9 for an 11 am game and my wife couldn't decide. I told her that me and the girls were going and we hoped she had a great time at home. Boom, I can watch any Tennessee game, in any sport, at any time with no complaints. People like you make fans for life. Good job Jacket!

Lol we didn't lose AM game because of an XP instead of 2 pt. no coach in America with undefeated season on the line is going for 2 there. we lost because of an awful first half with an insane amount of turnovers. AM game was purely on the players. S. Carolina was on coaches. Bama was just bama
