Bama best guys came back like Hand and Tim Williams. OJ Howard would have been a First rounder on combine numbers alone.
Winning a game vs another team doesn't always mean more talent.

Imma let you list the positions where LSU and Vols are better than Bama. I'll give RB and QB(slightly).

Go

What about CB for us? Sutton/Martin/Foreman/Abernathy vs Humphrey, Fitzpatrick(who hasn't proved he can cover outside of the short area), and who else(Tony Brown stays in trouble).

What about Safety? Eddie Jackson is outstanding at safety but who's the other guy? We've got TKjr, Berry(who is a playmaker that needs more PT), and Gaulden(who's unproven for now).

What about DE? Barnett and Vereen are the best combo in the league outside of A&M(and their guys don't play the run).

Who's got better DTs? I really want to see your answer to this. Because Tuttle, KMack, O'Brien, and Vickers not shabby at all. Bama has who proven again? Reed and Robinson are gone.

LBs? Who you taking starter wise? Kirkland and JRM or Reuben Foster/whoever else they are lining up.

How about our OL which is intact versus theirs losing 1 maybe 2 of their best players.

They've got the WRs but otherwise yeah I'll take our guys.

Now explain how and where they are better now.

I love the vols but please take foreman out of this argument, the dude was burnt like toast whenever he played real talent. Abernathy didn't play enough to be in this discussion, and Vereen only had like 4 sacks last year.

Yes. Slighty. I was including LSU in the discussion. Sorry. Dobbs hasn't shown enough for me to say he can win a game with his arm. He's way better than what Bama QBs have shown.

DE? Bruh they have 3 guys who are projected 1rounders next year. Barrnett is really really good and proven. Neal is a really good. Keys has shown he will be good as a pass rusher.

CB- Fitzpatrick and Humphries would be in two deep at any SEC school. Harrison and Eddie Jackson are top 5 S in SEC.

Look, it's nothing wrong with saying, you'd take UT's roster over Bama or LSU. The problem is saying your roster is more talented. That's what Sheridan and D4H stated.

What happened to all these projected first rounders this past year on the D-line? They were all second rounders for some odd reason.

Foreman kinda shut Pharaoh Cooper down. Sooooo yeah..... Also made a lot of plays as the season went on. Who's Bama have outside of Hump and Fitzpatrick(who didn't look good outside of the 15 yard area).

Vereen had 9.5 TFLs. And 2 sacks versus Bama at that. Dominated Cam Robinson.....

Barnett is the best D-lineman in the country.

Wasn't cooper hurt during that game? 8 of those tfl were in the last 6 games against the weak part of the schedule. I'm not saying Vereen isn't good but he's gonna have to show me more. Aren't the bama CB's freshmen? It doesn't matter who else is behind them, they started on a national championship team as freshmen

Exactly. Both these players really made strides last year in their development. I love Vereen and I think he will have a great year---along with LaTroy Lewis. Everyone always forgets about him but he's a really good player. Foreman only adds depth to an already solid secondary and last year gave him the gametime experience that may prove to be crucial in a big game this year.

Random question: Does anyone know how Elliott Berry will factor into this season? I'm assuming he will be a backup at LB and on special teams. Evan gets all the hype (deservedly so) but I wonder about Elliott--

Agree-- Henry is a really good RB, but not Great... He mostly ran right up the middle getting to the next level before even being touched.... Hurd could have done the exact same thing behind that O line... folks are saying Henry is NOT impressing too many so far at Camp...

Count me as not surprised. I like the kid but I said his skillset wouldn't translate.

I'll take Tennessee over Alabama at every position group except WR and d-line. We're better at QB and RB by a mile. Better along the o-line (especially if Cam Robinson is dismissed). Better at LB with Kirkland Jr. and JRM. DBs are tied IMO. I like Bama's secondary especially Ronnie Harrison and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

LSU is better than Alabama at RB, WR, and OL. Bama better at DL and LB. Both are tied in the secondary. Both have questions at QB.

I agree with special teams.

Bama has recruited lights out in Secondary. Needs to be coached up. Fitzpatrick is really good. I would take Cam over MP. Their S are better right now. Bama is deeper at DB.

I'll take Cam Sutton over anyone in Alabama's secondary. Justin Martin and Marlon Humphrey are a wash. I don't know who Bama's nickel will be.

In terms of safety, Alabama is right now more experienced with guys like Harrison and Jackson. But Kelly is a ballhawk and Gaulden has Karl Joseph potential.

I'll say secondary is even. Edge to Tennessee at corner. Edge to Alabama at safety.

It happens. Still doesn't change the fact they got First round projections from most media outlets. The key word was "projected".

If that's your base then Bama roster is better because of number of draft picks and production. The only guys who have put up better numbers than Bama starters are Dobbs, Hurd(RBs) Barnett and JRM. Bama has better returning numbers at DL and LB(they play 3/4 as base). Going off stats...Not sure what other criteria you are basing your opinions on. Can't be ranking or amount of Deer antler spray consumed.

They're not in the same universe as Kirkland and JRM.

We've seen them play. Kirkland is better than both. Same with JRM.

People need to stop being seduced by recruiting rankings after kids get on campus.

NSIS. Foster will probably be first LB of the board next draft. Could have gone as early as 2nd this draft. He made the right choice coming back to give them more tape. Still put up numbers playing besides an AA.

Saban is best DB coach in game. Tie breaker.
