With versatile guys like Kongbo, Lewis,Phillips, and Barnett I never got too concerned about depth on the DL. WR group will be fine as well, so rest easy Catboner.

The only game it concerns for me is Alabama. Even with how good they are if they have to slide inside on plays other than obvious passing down it won't be good

Any of you guys a GBO insider? If so do you still get emails from them? I realized that I stopped receiving emails from them in may, and only insiders can buy tickets for the opener today.

Yeah, I just got an email this morning.

Gotta make room for new 5* recruits.

This..... people don't realize Saban's little secret to keeping up the 5* numbers is that if you are not producing or living up to your potential and you are say a sophomore, he will quietly ask you to leave... there have been a few hush articles about some parents complaining and feeling betrayed, but it is always swept under the rug. Still amazes me not only what winning allows a program and coach to do, but how recruits still want to be a part of that system... knowing if they bust, they gon.... Wins and crystal trophies allows total freedom.

Yep with a DC like Shoop we will be fine. If he can hide his weaknesses at Vandy and Penn st then he will so here if he can find one lol. Been a loooooong time since we had a defense this loaded.

Most 5 star kids don't go Into it expecting to bust. If they are thinking that way you don't want them anyway

Yes he and Callaway look like classic WRs. Johnson runs routes similar to Chad for sure. I'm excited about them as a group. Preston is sure the Alpha there though and looks elite.

kind of sad no one ever talks about Malone... we've even heard updates about J Jennings and how he is working with his knee still tender, but no Malone.

The only employers that make you clean out your desk immediately are tools. Most companies want you to give a couple of weeks notice to transition your job and give them a chance to start a replacement search. I've quit 2 jobs since graduating college and both times gave 2 weeks notice. Both times the employer let me work the 2 weeks.

If the story is as described then Saban was being a tool. It's not unheard of in the working world to have to clean out your desk immediately, but it's far from a given that an employer will treat people that way.

Just depends on the situation. There are scenarios where it helps if the person is willing to stay and even "train" a new person. But my father was a manager in a large public company and said that most of the time it was best to pay the 2 weeks and everyone move on. There is usually no incentive for the employee to do any productive work.

Fans or media? Media is saying Malone and Preston are the clear top guys. Malone looks different to me but in limited clips. He looks really good. Brice thinks he has a breakout year.

from a fan standpoint it's a wait and see approach until game time. His biggest issue to me has always been effort and toughness when challenged on his route or the ball is not perfectly thrown he just seems to want the ball to come to him vs going and getting the dang thing.

Both, I guess most are just talking up Callaway, Byrd, and the other freshman because they are new... say Preston is the alpha, J Jennings is still looking good but tight on his knee with cuts, and not much else about Malone...don't get me wrong, we NEED Malone this year and looking forward to him making a name for himself. Everything is falling into place, every position will be fun to watch. GBO!

Wrong, pride in my work and the job I do is enough for me. I have left jobs and worked 12 days in a row in order to not leave the company in a lurch.

Interesting. There definitely are times where it makes sense, especially with a bitter employee, but I've never worked anywhere where that was standard practice when someone resigns.

Bruce Feldman ranks the Vols' backfield 4th in college football:

4 Tennessee
Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara almost combined for 2,000 yards last season for UT to go with 19 rushing touchdowns. The 6-3, 240-pound Hurd is a Freak athlete and a very underrated receiver (57 catches the past two seasons). He averaged five yards a carry in the game at Bama; ran for 102 yards at UF; and ran for 130 yards against Northwestern in the bowl game. Kamara is a nice change-up. He’s shifty and also a terrific receiver (34 catches last year) and was good for 6.5 yards a carry last year. Freshman Carlin Fils-Aime, a speedy Floridian, has impressed folks inside the program since arriving. He and sophomore John Kelly (166 yards last fall) will push for carries.

Ahead of us, he has:
1 Bayou Kitties
2 Cardinal Christmas Tree
3 Oklaholding
