I don't think so just a number of posters want him in and CZA.

Perfect scenario for me would be Z is WR coach and Welker is QC. Z mentors Welker on life as a college coach. Z moves on next year or two and Welker easily transitions into that role. I think there is a ton of value in Welker being on staff next year. Another respected football player that has played in several of the best offenses in NFL in the meeting room helping with gameplan. The players will love him. He has instant respect. He has a different personality than Z for a good mix of good cop bad cop

Why would Welker take a QC spot on a college team with all of the millions he made in the NFL? Wouldn't he look for a similar role in a NFL team if he was interested in coaching? Did he burn too many bridges in the NFL? Seems a little odd to be looking for a QC job in the NCAA.

Well said

I would love to have him be the QC or Ga but he isn't qualified for being a full time guy yet. Being a good player Doesn't mean you are a good coach. I also don't like the PEDs in his recent past.

I have no clue how qualified he is from a coaching standpoint, but he is also in the running for a full time staff position at WVU. Doesn't mean he will get that job but there is mutual interest.

I've seen 3 helmet to helmet TARGETTING hits not called this game.
Did the NCAA suspend this rule for the title game?

It is a totally arbitrary rule used to influence outcomes of games. The targeting on JRM against Appy st is a perfect example. That was really weak sauce.

I don't know maybe he prefers college game to relate to kids. Nothing wrong with QC. That's how slot of those guys come into coaching as that or GA. It sounds like if he doesn't get full time gig at west va then he will be a QC somewhere. Safe to say Peyton worked this meeting up

I was surprised to see that. Bad move by West Virg if they pull the trigger.

Could be. Maybe they feel comfortable with an investment in a coach though. Holgorsen is an offensive mind and loves the air raid. Welker played at Texas Tech during Leachs Air raid offense. Already familiar with type of scheme. Just comes down to his coaching chops.

Makes sense.

I don't buy that Hurts wasn't impacted by the OC change. He looked like a different guy last night. Kiffin's MO is making mediocre QBs look good. Hurts looked like a mediocre QB who had been made to look good all season.

Granted Clemson did exactly what you needed to do to Hurts but it's not like they're the first team to try that.

Clemson the best defense they faced this year too. I'm sure there was an effect but not enough to change outcome. They still scored 31 pts. Sark had some nice play calls in the game but you could tell they were protecting Hurts from doing too much. I don't think he threw further than 10 yards until 4th Qtr. Losing Scarborough was huge. Clemson couldn't tackle him.

One thing I thought of is lack of Ridley use thisbyear. It goes to show you how much a QB can really handcuff play calls. Ridley was a star last year and couldn't get the ball this year

Just now catching up and reading last night's posts after the game. Not sure why everyone is so happy Bama lost, just means we have a minimum of 2 more years of Saban, he isn't leaving until he surpasses Bear. The loss will have no effect on his recruiting.
I was at the point to where I was ready for him to get his and get the heck out of college football, best thing for us. JMO
