Keep seeing this all over social media (mainly from Pens fans, of course) and it ticks me off. It's like saying, "Well, they took away the home run but we had RISP 5 times." So what? What percentage of power plays actually yield goals? The Preds season average was 20.5% and the Pens was 21.5%. It's a case of definite vs. opportunity. False equivalency.

We deserved that goal and whatever results came with the scenario where the Preds were up 1-0. Win, OT or loss. That's why I'm really struggling to accept the loss. If the Pens beat us 2-1 (no empty net), I'd feel sad but not this feeling of being robbed, cheated, swindled, etc. That's what really sucks.

I agree, we got hosed. Can't blame it 100% on refs but they definitely screwed us.

The Preds missed a lot of opportunities, but Pittsburg played really good defense. They packed the defense in around the goal and shut off the path to the goal. The goal should not have been waves off, but They did shut out the Preds the last two games. I have to give them credit them for how they changed their defense.

The Press will continue to get better and will be a wonder for the next several years.

The momentum of the game was altered when they called off our goal. The rule was posted on here that it should have been reviewed. It was a bang bang play and should have been a goal. Instead it gave Murray even more confidence and shook the Preds. We were hosed because if that goal counts, who knows how the rest of the game goes.

Ahhh just one more basketball game and we can put away all these silly second teir sports and get back the sport of kings....better than diamond rings...thats why we're here to sing...

Isn't it ridiculous? Does this happen at other schools, or just ours? Former players are constantly coming out of nowhere with obscure criticisms. Last week was the guy saying how much better Penn State treats their former players than we do. Give it a rest already

My son attended The Arsenal Camp this past weekend. We've been to several QB camps this summer and this was a great camp. There is no doubt in my mind we have a top notch QB coach. He is a teacher, motivator, energetic, and has a great understanding of the game. He has a giant personality and will be a tremendous recruiter.

Butch knows what he is doing. Great hire.

That's probably a fair point. I just don't understand how some fans reach a level of investment that would allow them to think it's ok to say garbage like that. I played D-1 football and am a donor and season ticket holder and I can't even imagine saying something like that to a player or his family. Jmo though.

Long time Cakgary Flames fan here (30+ years).

The officials awarding power plays is the closest thing you get to a make-up call in hockey. The refs realized their mistake, awarded the Preds a bunch of power plays, including a ridiculous 5 on 3 that should have resulted in a goal. But no, the Preds passed the puck around & around while I was screaming at the TV to shoot the damn puck. Abysmal.

On the flip side, they called no penalties against the Preds IIRC. For example, interference should have been called against Pekka on the wraparound goal attempt by one of the Pittsburgh players (I forget his name). No call.

It's how the game is played & officiated. What else could the refs have done?

People are crazy. That's a microcosm of any fan base.

I've seen folks say some harsh things about HS players. Have gone a little redneck when my child was mentioned 😂.
