So it's Monday and there are many on here trying to now rationalize and come up with scenarios where CBJ can keep his job and/or is safe... Still arguing about QB play and who should start or get reps this weekend...
To me, nothing has really changed and I don't think it's in the program's best interest long term to keep him even if he salvages the season. I think there is too much permanent damage and exposure of failure to develop and maximize players, failure to make adjustments and have a good game day plan of execution, and failure to coach and make decisions to put us in the best position to win time and time again.
This weekend was his chance, gift wrapped with suspended players and all to finally show the naysayers he had learned from his mistakes and is moving forward and upward.
He failed miserably... so much so, that the media is having a field day....Now we hear rumors of disgruntled players, transfers, and a divided locker room. A coach in year five should not have the program in anywhere near this bad of a position.
Do I think anything will happen before the end of the season, of course not... But from GT to today, this has been more of the same as every year, injuries and all...
I used to get so upset and frustrated wanting us to get back to being a top tier, competitive program-- constantly dealing with Bammerz and other SEC teams jeering and taunting our program, making fun of our chokes and quotes...
Now I throw my hands up and agree because there's no defending Butch at this point. If the Admin wants to continue down this road and watch us slide permanently into bottom dwelling in the SEC, so be it... If they don't, then a change must be made. I really hate it for the kids who came here wanting to raise this program up and are now stuck, having to deal with this... What is Trey Smith, Chandler, Ignont, Mays, Emerson, Litaker, Lawless, and guys like that thinking this week?
