USCe in 2013 was huge. The comeback there in 2014 as well. Beating UGA in 2015 and ending Mark Richts career there was big.

Butch has had his moments and it is revisionist history to suggest otherwise. He just hasn't had enough of them yet.

I hate to bring it up, but simply not winning the East won't get Butch fired this year. Most people were expecting some growing pains. However, there's a difference in failing to win the East championship and completely freakin' blowing it. If we lose to more than one of Georgia, SC, KY, MO, and Vandy it falls into the freakin' blowing it category. If that happens he's finished. If he pulls out of this year with 4 or less losses he's probably safe for another year.

AGREED. The east never should have been a line drawn in the sand this year.

So it's Monday and there are many on here trying to now rationalize and come up with scenarios where CBJ can keep his job and/or is safe... Still arguing about QB play and who should start or get reps this weekend...
To me, nothing has really changed and I don't think it's in the program's best interest long term to keep him even if he salvages the season. I think there is too much permanent damage and exposure of failure to develop and maximize players, failure to make adjustments and have a good game day plan of execution, and failure to coach and make decisions to put us in the best position to win time and time again.
This weekend was his chance, gift wrapped with suspended players and all to finally show the naysayers he had learned from his mistakes and is moving forward and upward.
He failed miserably... so much so, that the media is having a field day....Now we hear rumors of disgruntled players, transfers, and a divided locker room. A coach in year five should not have the program in anywhere near this bad of a position.
Do I think anything will happen before the end of the season, of course not... But from GT to today, this has been more of the same as every year, injuries and all...
I used to get so upset and frustrated wanting us to get back to being a top tier, competitive program-- constantly dealing with Bammerz and other SEC teams jeering and taunting our program, making fun of our chokes and quotes...
Now I throw my hands up and agree because there's no defending Butch at this point. If the Admin wants to continue down this road and watch us slide permanently into bottom dwelling in the SEC, so be it... If they don't, then a change must be made. I really hate it for the kids who came here wanting to raise this program up and are now stuck, having to deal with this... What is Trey Smith, Chandler, Ignont, Mays, Emerson, Litaker, Lawless, and guys like that thinking this week?

If the AD doesn't think butch is the guy the why prolong it even if he goes 8-4. Will just make tensions worse in following years.

I also have no idea the ADs thoughts.

This is a 6-6 team at best with one of the dumbest coaches in the NCAA. Jumper needs to get off the field and just hold that dumb trash can. My blind grandmother sees that QD is hopeless. Byrd, what a waste of talent. Just an all around dumb coach that is way in over his head. Dooley 2.0.

I have been very pleased with him. Very glad to admit I was wrong about him getting back healthy

Don't see how you keep him and KM off the field. They are just man handling the Los right now. Minus the last play the defense played great. Only gave up 13 points if you don't count the last play fudge up.

I'm sending CBJ and the team my thoughts and prayers, instead of hate, for a successful remainder of the season. We can still win the East with the team we have.

If it doesn't work out this year, I'm wishing him a successful career next year at a different job that's more in line with his abilities.

Actually all it means is that Vegas knows their job. But by all means, please do what you do.

That's true. People tend to forget that Vegas is just setting the line to even out the wagers as much as possible and not with the actual difference in score.

Overreact much?

GIves me real hope for Georgia.

What should we have been in? Maybe some kind of soft prevent since they needed somewhere around 25-30 yards to get in FG range?

Man to man with 2 deep safeties would have worked perfect. Cover 4 would have worked. Butch says we were to injured to be in dime, but it wasn't even the formation that cost us the play, it was the actual call.

Peneiro has an amazing leg, he's kicked it 81 yards in practice, last year he made a 55 yarder with plenty of room to spare. Mac probably would have kicked it if they got to the 50/45. So they really only needed 15/20 yards to attempt it.

Cover two was probably the worst thing you can call in that situation. Back the CB's up about 10 yards, back safeties up about 30 yards. Keep everything in front. They only had 1 play before attempting a FG. Worse case scenario should have been a 15 yard catch and they either go for an actual Hail Mary or they attempt a 65 Yard FG.

Stoops would be my choice if he were interested in even coming back to coach. His retirement sure seemed "sudden" and he may not have been ready to hang them up. I like Mullen too, but I just can't see him leaving because he hasn't yet and seems so comfortable. Stoops has the attitude we need. No more nice guys. Teams take on the personality of the coach.

You have said the same thing in every thread. We get it. You do not like CBJ. BTW, I am sorry your grandmother is blind.
