You hire guys like Butch and Dooley who are disasters in front of a mic and it intensifies it. Belichick and Saban interviews don't sell.

Butch and Dooley are great in front of the mic. Dooley especially was a great interview despite being terrible coach. Butch can't handle criticism and being challenged/thrown off his plan.

Belicheck and Saban are a rare breed.

The realistic big name candidates are Stoops and Mullen. Both would kill it here. Stoops would be my first phone call to tell me yay or nay. Media would love him. He has been a big time D.C. In this league. He knows how to beat Saban. Recruiting doesn't miss a beat. He has typically always had a great offense hire to go with his defensive mind. His players love him and play all out.

Maybe but there records are similar in conference play and riding day's coat tails he's worse. They wanted him fired last year!

Here's an analogy to compare Butch and Mullen.

Mullen has to dig a 6 ft hole with a spoon.

Butch has a backhoe but can't get past the 5ft mark.

State has considerably less resources than we do. They recruit at a significantly lower level, not because of recruiting prowess of the coaches but because it is Mississippi State. Their athletic facilities are on par with a G5 school. Point is if all things were equal, Mullen would have better results. Plus he is a QB whisperer.

I just don't think TEE wants to move from the west coast.

Probably not as a position coach making a few hundred thousand working for a guy that rubs him the wrong way, but I'd say he almost definitely would as head coach of his alma mater making 4 or 5 mil and picking the guys that work for him.

People would take Kelly in a heartbeat. He ain't coming here and the NCAA will be setting up their tent wherever he goes

I don't think he is ether.

I was skimming and saw some guy post he only scored 19 in the NC game as a reason we shouldn't hire him and I literally laughed out loud. I'm hoping it was in jest and I just missed it.

84 is more talented physically, but Calloway will end up being better because he's more intelligent. If CP could understand a playbook he would be unstoppable.

Ha he would probably even agree and laugh with you about this comment. CP just on of those dudes that you need to realize you know he don't want to study and all that. He just wants you to tell him where to go and give him the ball in space

Really this simple. Tennessee and Mississippi Stare aren't even close to the same job.

He is simply one of the most talented guys I've ever seen. It's mind blowing that he isn't a top 10 WR in the NFL.

Maybe it's just a tinge of optimism creeping back in after the Florida loss but looking at the schedule TN has the potential, potential now mind you, to go 10-2. Won't happen but if Butch does his thing against Georgia, along with the annual loss to the Tide, the hardest game left looks now to be Vandy at home. LSU will probably be tough but it's in Knoxville. I know it sounds crazy after the Florida debacle but looking at the schedule it's not THAT far fetched.

Didn't realize Dooley was great on a mic. Only remember him for his wacko press about the players storming the beaches of Normandy or something like that. But that considered butch is worse by a mile still.
