And I like what Shoop said about that. Admitted they probably should have rotated more but it's hard to pull your best guys out of the game sometimes. So you wind up asking too much of them.

I also like that he said give it a few more games before you try to judge what kind of defense we have.

Yup. I have always liked how upfront Shoop is about what he is doing and his shortcomings. Hopefully the defense pulls a 180 versus more conventional offenses.

If we spent the entire offseason preparing only for GTech this season would be a complete waste. That would be dumb and coaching malpractice.

During the season you have a few days to install game plans. For the first game you have a couple of weeks, but that still isn't enough to prepare for an offense that you literally never see.

Edit: And it is even harder to prepare, when what you game planned for gets thrown out after the first two series.

Yep, and coach Johnson pulled out all the stops for this game. He is a good Xs and Os coach.

The champions for life/five star hearts thing kinda has him where he can't do a thing outside the norm without it being taken over the top. But when you say stuff like that you open yourself up to what's going on.

I miss the classic days of VN when people disagreed but weren't so miserable. I have taken the last few offseasons off from VN because it gets so unbearable due to a few posters. Might have to take this season off from VN if it gets worse.

Freak has made an amazing place, and I could never stay away totally.

But lately even the RF is toxic, too. I ask everyone to take a deep breath. Yes, there were tons of negatives Monday night. But enjoy our football team. Enjoy that we get to watch at least 11 more games. It could get worse for the team, and it will suck, but enjoy the journey. And stop hating on each other for goodness sake.

I wish someone would call in or email ESPN or FineBumb and point out the belt, scepter, cane, chain, lunch box, hammer, etc... that everyone else has and ask why is UT's any different? Douche...

Stats from Florida MB regarding their current offensive ineptitude.

So we exploded on offense in the Tennessee game....For the first half.

Since then we have totaled only:
10 offensive TD's (We once scored 9 offensive TD drives against Tennessee.)
3 TD drives of over 59 yards. T-H-R-E-E (Terry Dean once threw for 7 TD's....in ONE HALF)
3 games with ZERO offensive TD's (Spurrier did that 2 times....ever)
6 games without a long TD drive over 59 yards.

Since then we have only had [# of offensive TDs]:
Tennessee - 1 (2nd half - 1 long drive)
Vandy - 1 (0 over 59 yards)
Missouri - 2 (0 over 59 yards)
Georgia - 3 (0 over 59 and all set up by the defense)
Arkansas - 0 (0 over 59 yards)
USCe - 2 (1 over 59 yards)
LSU - 1 (1 over 59 yards and it was a 1 play 99 yard TD pass)
FSU - 0 (0 over 59 yards)
Michigan - 0 (0 over 59 yards)

Rewatched the game. That last drive when we get recovered the ball on the 10 yard line and drove the ball 90 yards down the field for the tying score was a thing of beauty.

Very impressive for a 1st time starting QB.
