Sends the wrong message that the team doesn't need to be at their best. Nothing wrong planning for it but when you tell the world it clearly is something you are doing just to appease a pissed off kid.
Just rewatched the game. i think the defense holding GT to 28 is acceptable given the circumstances. We were playing a tough offense that, according to shoop, changed stuff up early in the game. Now it's easy to say shoop should have adjusted, but it's clear that he had no clue that they were going to start running plays that werent really on film. How can we criticize him for that? Also the offense kept going three and out which gassed the defense. Another factor is that GT is just a good team. Marshall might be a special player for them
My biggest criticisms for this game are not rotating enough players at DT and RB specifically, and the coaching malpractice that butch committed on that last drive before the half.
Vol Fans:
Where we call our own players and coaches "garbage," but a trash can with decals, used to encourage turnovers, triggers us.
Personally, I'm gonna make one for my tailgate.![]()
Florida gives up 33 in regulation to a pretty bad offense with terrible QB play, they are plenty good.
But it also gives them another week to game plan for us without the distractions of N. Colorado. Not saying that's a huge distraction, but a distraction nonetheless.
I'm most interested in how the suspensions will be handled.
Oh..and hope they don't implement the triple option on O.
You've gotta give it to UM though: Harbaugh is about as good as an offensive mind as there is in CFB. I'm not sure their offense is any more talented than ours (though I do think they're deeper at RB, maybe not as talented at RB1), but Harbaugh got a lot out of them.
If Harbaugh is running our offense, I think we probably put up 42 in regulation against GT. I don't mean that as a knock on Scott (he's still relatively new to the OC thing, I'm thinking he'll hit his stride after another game or two). But you've gotta account for the fact that the team that beat UF week 1 has an offensive minded coach who managed to reach a superbowl with Colin Kaepernick under center.
Power will almost 100% certain go out. Most cities cut them off on purpose. After Ivan power was out for about a week and a half to two weeks.... that was a cat 3
Did you watch the game? He was dirt balling passes and overthrowing guys. He's average at best.
I seriously wonder what they might do because their bye week is on the 21st and we play Alabama and the only other game they can possibly get out of like UAB, we have LSU.
Florida is going to take their frustrations out on us now instead of the cupcake. In addition, they get an extra week to get even more pissed off. Not good
Or they get super tight thinking the season is on the line.Let's just say you are a Florida player. You have been told all off-season how awesome your team is gonna be this year, and you are a dark horse for the playoffs. After all the talk, you get absolutely embarrassed on national tv first game of the year. At this point, every one is talking smack about how bad you suck. Now you are just pissed off at everyone, and want to destroy the next team you play. Now you get another week of the media destroying you, and an extra week of prep for the upcoming team. I'm telling you, some of those UF players might literally be on fire when they run onto the field.
