Sends the wrong message that the team doesn't need to be at their best. Nothing wrong planning for it but when you tell the world it clearly is something you are doing just to appease a pissed off kid.

Listen to Butch interview instead of one sentence tweet. Just looking for drama. Nothing he said is remotely bad or what you make it out to be. Take a xanax

Been meaning to post this...

I finally watched the end of the 4th and both OT's of the GT game.

I feel better. Our guys showed some serious grit and mental toughness. Darrell Taylor is a flat out stud. He and (seriously) Trevor Daniel might be the most talented players at their position on the team.

As much as Shoop is still on my excrement list, we didn't give up a lot of big plays, just too many 4-6 yard runs, and Marshall might be the best running QB we face all year (Hurts is a better passer, IMO). There's still a ton of work to do on both sides of the ball and IS SHOULD BE a good game to work out the wrinkles.

Oh, and we're Florida's second game now. :) I'm not unhappy about that...

Just rewatched the game. i think the defense holding GT to 28 is acceptable given the circumstances. We were playing a tough offense that, according to shoop, changed stuff up early in the game. Now it's easy to say shoop should have adjusted, but it's clear that he had no clue that they were going to start running plays that werent really on film. How can we criticize him for that? Also the offense kept going three and out which gassed the defense. Another factor is that GT is just a good team. Marshall might be a special player for them

My biggest criticisms for this game are not rotating enough players at DT and RB specifically, and the coaching malpractice that butch committed on that last drive before the half.

I'm not sure I 100% agree with the narrative that we couldn't prepare for what GT did since they ran very little triple option.

GT doesn't just line up and run the triple option 50 times a game. They've always run a lot of other plays as well. Ask any GT fan if the plays they were running were anything new, and I doubt you'll get an answer in the affirmative.

I think it's more likely that we prepared for the wrong QB and got burned by that than that GT just ran a bunch of plays we weren't prepared for.

Vol Fans:

Where we call our own players and coaches "garbage," but a trash can with decals, used to encourage turnovers, triggers us.

Personally, I'm gonna make one for my tailgate. :)

People are more concerned with how they're perceived by other fan bases. They don't want to hear it on twitter or on an SEC or General Football website about the trash can or any number of things. The response for many of these 'fans' is to just disassociate themselves from the team and coach by trashing both harder than anyone. That in turn makes them 'cool' and 'reasonable' to the rival fans who are enjoying the media storm and juvenile jokes. The problem is that it encourages those rivals to double down on constantly bringing this stuff up.

Florida is going to take their frustrations out on us now instead of the cupcake. In addition, they get an extra week to get even more pissed off. Not good

Not in Gainesville. Florida can't miss all these weeks. Game will be played somewhere

I seriously wonder what they might do because their bye week is on the 21st and we play Alabama and the only other game they can possibly get out of like UAB, we have LSU.

Don't you remember all those years we played like UCLA or Cal or some other team and then had a week off before Florida and it never helped us

Florida gives up 33 in regulation to a pretty bad offense with terrible QB play, they are plenty good.

You've gotta give it to UM though: Harbaugh is about as good as an offensive mind as there is in CFB. I'm not sure their offense is any more talented than ours (though I do think they're deeper at RB, maybe not as talented at RB1), but Harbaugh got a lot out of them.

If Harbaugh is running our offense, I think we probably put up 42 in regulation against GT. I don't mean that as a knock on Scott (he's still relatively new to the OC thing, I'm thinking he'll hit his stride after another game or two). But you've gotta account for the fact that the team that beat UF week 1 has an offensive minded coach who managed to reach a superbowl with Colin Kaepernick under center.

But it also gives them another week to game plan for us without the distractions of N. Colorado. Not saying that's a huge distraction, but a distraction nonetheless.

I'm most interested in how the suspensions will be handled.

Oh..and hope they don't implement the triple option on O.

Early in a season you cannot substitute the importance of live snaps.

Agreed. I don't agree with everyone who acts like Michigan's offense is bad. It's actually a pretty good offense. They're physical and they're well coached. Florida's defense isn't slaw IMO.

Power will almost 100% certain go out. Most cities cut them off on purpose. After Ivan power was out for about a week and a half to two weeks.... that was a cat 3

Cutting off the power is a great idea when there are downed power lines. Several volunteers died in the Houston area floods when their boats drifted into downed lines.

Did you watch the game? He was dirt balling passes and overthrowing guys. He's average at best.

Watched the whole game from start to finish. He finished last year with nearly 65%, he passed for 63% vs Osu.... Who had one of the best secondaries in the nation last year. He didn't suddenly just get worse. Outside of 2 plays UF's secondary played fine.

Let's just say you are a Florida player. You have been told all off-season how awesome your team is gonna be this year, and you are a dark horse for the playoffs. After all the talk, you get absolutely embarrassed on national tv first game of the year. At this point, every one is talking smack about how bad you suck. Now you are just pissed off at everyone, and want to destroy the next team you play. Now you get another week of the media destroying you, and an extra week of prep for the upcoming team. I'm telling you, some of those UF players might literally be on fire when they run onto the field.

Or they arent going to get a week to fine tune their team before they play us and are going to be thrown of their rhythm due to the storm. See how that works?

Or they get super tight thinking the season is on the line.
