Tennessee escaped by the hair of their chinny-chin-chin against a scrappy South Carolina team last week. This week, they face the "Mean Green" of North Texas. Let's look at some keys to victory for this crucial match-up.

Keys to Victory:

1. Score points: It shouldn't take too much, and Tennessee should be able to get as much as they want.

2. Show up: Tennessee needs to show up for this game, otherwise, it is a forfeit. Probably 25 or 30 players is enough. It doesn't really matter who... just some dudes wearing orange shirts should do.

3. Resolve Clock Issues:
Coaches and players need to make sure that alarm clocks are set to the correct time to assure that some of them show up for the contest.

4. Avoid Traffic:
Traffic on gameday can be tough. If the team cannot avoid traffic, they will not score points, show up, and have thus not resolved their clock issues, so they could have a rough time. Proper traffic management is crucial here, and I look for the campus police to play a crucial role.

Prediction: If the Vols can take care of these 4 crucial keys to victory, I think they will win it in the end. It is likely that they can score into the 80's if they wished, but playing the back-up's after one series in the 3rd quarter will not allow for that. Also, look for the back-up defense to get some points dropped on them, but not too much.

Once we get 40+ Butch will pull the plug no matter who us in. The man does not believe in embarrassing opponents. He will run it right up the centers back 30 times in a row.

Equivalent of a scout team scrimmage. Run it up and make sure anybody that isn't RS'ing plays a lot.

I don't agree with CBJ on this. Play the 2nd, 3rd, etc., but let them play. QBs need to run the playbook instead of just handing it off every single snap. We shouldn't worry about our opponent getting embarrassed by our non-starters.

100% agree. He bemoans depth but then doesn't develop it with in-game experience. Had a good chance to get QD some pass plays against Kentucky.

63-0 Vols

I'm hoping we let some of our injured starters rest, like this is an off week. Play a lot of our 2s, and open the playbook up for them. I want to see Dormady throw the ball. Also, I think we see another KO and punt return for a TD.

While we need backups to get experience, I wonder if you can even count it as true experience against North Texas. I think our scout team would be stronger competition but, unfortunately, I don't think the NCAA will let us play against them.

That being the case, Vols 70-6.

We may actually see a running clock in the second half or 4th quarter. I am pretty sure that can be agreed on by the coaches if we are winning by like 70
