Let's be honest... you probably don't care too much about this game, and wouldn't read a big write up on it anyways. The Vols are likely within a few days of a new coach hire, and all eyes are on that move.
That said, let's take a lil look.
Keys to Victory:
1. 7 loss stop gap: Tennessee and OSU have never lost 8 games in a season. The Vols get a chance to show some backbone and not be the only team to do that.
2. Rushing Edge: The "strength" of the Vol offense this year has been the running backs. Brett Kendrick looks likely to return for his final game in orange. The Vols will look to establish the run and dominate there, if the OL will hold up.
But here is the biggest boost for the Vols... Vandy only averages 94.5 yards per game rushing. That is the Vols weakness, and Vandy does not appear to be able to exploit it.
3. Send em home with a smile: Probably the entire staff will be packing their offices up after this game. The team gets an opportunity to celebrate with coaches with a proper send-off if they get this right. No one wants to end the year on a sour note... unless they are too apathetic to care and have completely checked out. I don't believe this is the case. Win one for your coaches.
Prediction: Some trickery and fun in this game. The coaches will cut loose a bit and the players will play loose. Vols win the rushing edge big time, and the whole fanbase can smile going into the coaching decision.
