All of it was his fault. We have a slaw OL. We have a QB making terrible decisions because he has not received enough coaching or had enough reps in practice or in games because it is another personnel decision that was incorrect. We have CB who give up 6 yard hitches on every play and still sometimes miss the tackle. We are undisciplined. We have senior offensive linemen who cannot line up right, because there is no consequence for being wrong. We have two RB who looked electric tonight but who have not touched the ball enough this season because our playcalling and QB play before tonight has been so atrocious that we cannot stay on the field long enough to mount a legitimate threat. Our playcalling in the red zone is still pathetic. Our WR cannot get good enough separation because our WR coach, who our head coach hired, cannot teach them. We are soft on both lines. We have a "cerebral" LB who still cannot get us lined up right not to be gashed by the same formation over and over and over again. I could go on but it makes my heart hurt. This is ALL his fault. ALL OF IT. Every last iota. He brought us to this place and he should shoulder the responsibility and sack up and look us in the eye and apologize for his piss-poor performance. He just needs to leave. He has very little equity left with fans, in my eyes, because he has out-stayed his welcome. This is the worst Tennessee team that I have ever seen. The worst one. Ever.

I know it's easy to be pessimistic but they are going to fire him this weekend.

They are not going to go into Homecoming Week will all the former players on campus with Butch as coach. Attendance will be terrible and they do not want the whole week to be former players asking the administration why Butch still has a job. They have to remove the cloud or we will lose to a good Southern Miss team.

Also, Gruden is going to be on campus. And if the rumors of us still courting him are true, it'll be a lot easier to do it with an actual opening.

Help me understand why Currie hasn’t publicly announced that Butch is gone. I’m seriously confused, and can’t seem to find a logical reason for him to continue coaching our team.

Needs approval. Fall meeting is this week, and the full board will be there then. They could teleconference voting members tomorrow... or wait to bring it to the table. IDK what they'll do, but it was shortsighted to underestimate how fed up this fanbase is with the current situation.

I want Butch gone as bad as anyone. But, the players are to blame for the last two loses. It's easy to place blame on him because you don't want to admit that this team is lacking in talent and toughness. I mean our effing qb hasn't thrown a td in October.

Is this specific to the head football coach position, or contracts with liabilities over a certain amount?

It's freakin' stupidity. No way Currie hasn't felt the heat. If he's oblivious to it. I've given him way to much credit.
