Really random thought and I'm sure someone with more football recruiting knowledge than I could provide some insight...

Corn elder is a good football prospect from Tennessee and has been offered and is beig recruited by Tennessee. What's tennessee's chances with him?

Where this relates to basketball, Elder also happens to be a pretty decent PG. Not the quality of PG we'd offer probably(although he's comparable to Landry). My thought is, if he plays football it's a football scholarship, would Dooley allow him to also play basketball and is that something elder is looking to do?

Would help us out, lets us part with Landry, get the extra scholarship were wanting, yet still have some PG depth.

Just a thought.

I sure would let him play whatever he wants as long as he plays football too

Corn isn't interested in UT at all. If he plays football it will be at Vandy or Ole Miss and if he plays bball it will be an MTSU type school.

I don't think either side has much interest. I also read he would prefer to play basketball. Not sure if that has changed.

This. He has anounced that Ole Miss is his leader, and there have been multiple reports that Corn isn't really interested in Tennessee and Tennessee is not really interested in him. Buck Fitzgerald stated that it is just not a good fit.

Thanks, it was just something I randomly thought of and curious if it was a possibility at all.

Because it sounds stupid.

I wasn't aware it was short for something.

Not trying to start a bad topic, but is that really the oddest name you've heard? Some of these kids are being named things that their parents had to be F'd up to even think of.

Lol. Yes. That's why I didn't bother seeing if "Corn" was short for something because parents name their kids some of the dumbest things ever. But yes. The (nick)name Corn sucks but thankfully that's not the kids real name

I'm sure he's encouraged it or it would've been ditched by now, must not bother him.

Hmmm interesting development here...

Apparently Zo was at his game tonight, and it was for Cornelius. The new football coach recently offered Corn and the staff is really pursuing him pretty hard. He has long thought to of been a UCLA or Ohio State lean (iirc). Here's where it gets interesting though, there has been talk he wants to play both sports, and neither of those schools have agreed to that. With Zo being at the game tonight it makes me wonder if Coach Jones asked Zo to evaluate him and see if we could find a spot for him on the basketball team.

If we somehow land him as a dual sport guy that's a big time boom, this is a good PG and the kid is lightning quick.

Would also be on football scholly, and not on basketball scholly.

Undoubtedly watching Andrew Fleming, too. Fleming is a 2015 kid at Ensworth who will be one of the top kids in the country in his clasas.
