Assuming Maymon doesn't go pro, we lose only Tatum and Woolridge. And Stokes has to come back. With 1 year of CCM's system in the can, UT should be very competitive next year.

1. Do we have a chance at 1 or 2 elite recruits?
2. When ESPN's recruiting page says a player has "signed," is that the same as a contract or a mere commitment?

Polythress belongs in Orange.

heres the biggest problem you arent mentioning. we have 13 scholarships all taken, wool and tatum leave, we have 2 coming in, so we are right back at 13 scholly's. unless someone leaves, many think miller will and wes might, then we wont have any available scholarships. if we get an extra...

1. our biggest guy we are after is mitchell, a 3* PF/C
2. yes when it says signed they have signed, as in like national signing day when recruits sign.

thanks.

well, then we're all going to have to buy into the system and CCM's ability to coach em up

purdue did win a lot of games without very many 5* players (Robinson is the only one who comes to mind)

make no mistake...if an elite player comes calling...we will have a spot for him. It's unlikely everyone but those two will be here next year. Maymon will stay but i see yemi / miller / washpun or the kid i cant pronounce bouncing. 1 of the those likely imo. If not then why do we pursue mitchell? Its gonna happen

I think we'll be in good shape next year.
They'll start much better, second year in system for all.
I think now, that McRae has shown he can step up and replace Tatum.

We have a strong post presence, even stronger next year with Stokes maturing. Get Mitchell and we're even tougher.

Kids are really starting to get it on offense.
Ball movement today was really exceptional at times.
D will only get better.
Good things ahead.

Martin is putting his hat for the 2013 class (and rightfully so).

Edwards is a solid backup in this league IMO.

exactly.

if im ccm im not looking for a roster overhaul, the only thing im trying to do is get a feel for mitchell.(post depth is nice to have) if mitchell wants to come here, we will have a spot, other than that i see the roster being around the same.

as you said id expect a much better start. hell for starters we dont play duke and memphis to start out our year.

another factor is we are going to use our europe trip this summer. many dont realize, but i really think this has a positive impact on your team. extra chemistry building and more than anything more coaching and practicing opportunities.

Yemi will be a much more valuable player next year. He will get 15-20 minutes a game imho.

who's minutes is he gonna take?

not maymon
not stokes
not hall

he may see 5 minutes or so a game IMO, but if we get mitchell he'll be seeing no time and most likely red shirt the season. thatd honestly be the best thing for him, he could use it. he would have been redshirted this year but we just didnt have the depth without stokes in the post.

Our Biggest needs is a 6'2"-6'4" combo guard, who is quick, can handle the ball, and can shoot the three. Good luck finding that type player this late. We are not quite good enough at the guard spots to contend for an SEC championship.

THis team should be a Sweet 16 team next year. Remember, we add Chievous to the mix as well. Losing Tatum and Woolridge won't hurt us at all.

eek i dont know if thats rational. lets wait and see how we finish the year, and see about additions and subtractions to the roster in the off-season before making predictions.

remember, washpun was rated higher than chievous was. dont expect him to come in and be a big contributor. he may end up being, but dont expect it thats not fair.

at this point we're talking we may be a bubble team, so lets say we end up on bubble but miss. a fair expectation for next year would be IMO, make the tournament as a decent seed, higher then a 8 or so.
