Well, Duke Calhoun really does seem to like Ole Miss and it's not just a smoke screen like I would've hoped. We probably won't know anything about him until signing day, and it's between UT and OM. Another WR to look out for is Tim Hawthorne. He's a UT fan and UT could've had him locked up early on if they had offered him while he was at a summer camp. They waited a few weeks, and he didn't seem to happy about it. Well, he ended up being higher ranked and recruited a lot heavier than he expected........so he decided he liked the recruiting process a lot and would draw it out. Well he talked less and less about UT, but said his decision would shock people, he was going for theatrics. Even though everything I heard from sources was that Hawthorne was losing interest in UT, I thought his little game might be to publicly drop UT only to select us in the end. He did drop UT a couple of weeks ago, but then mentioned us again....briefly in an article from this weekend. Now I hear, and it's now being reported by a few recruiting experts, that he called the coaches to come for an in-home visit.....but he's trying to keep it quiet. Hawthorne is a bigtime reciever, but his head has grown a bit from recruiting......so Troop would have to straighten him out. We may very well shock the UGA, Bama, and Auburn fans by pulling Tim Hawthorne. I definitely haven't heard it confirmed that he'll come to UT, but it's looking better everyday.

Our recruiting class has a really good chance to be on par with most of Fulmer's classes, and that would be the best recruiting job he's EVER done consider this past season. Stay tuned, these next two weeks will be fun.

The info on Hawthorne, I got it from sources but now Brent Hubbs is reporting it over on Volquest....so many should know about it by now.

We'll also get atleast two commits next week. Brent Vinson should commit on Monday, possibly on Sunday, and Stephaun Raines will commit on thursday. I think they like Raines as a DB, but he is VERY underrated. The kid is a good one. We may also get a commit from Nick Stephens next week, but that's only because he'll annouce his final choice next week........but we have a good shot.

I also can't believe I've forgotten about Brandon Warren. He's easily the biggest guy left on our board. From what his cousin says, and his cousin is an FSU fan, Warren is torn and the decision is getting tougher for him. That's huge for us because he cousin was saying that Warren was an FSU lock for a while but now UT has made up a TON of ground. His family also got him more UT gear than FSU gear for christmas, and they're pushing him to UT. His momma wants him at UT also.

And while I'm thinking about it, keep an eye on DE Victor Thomas from Miss. We're looking very good with him right now. The kid is only a 4.9 speed kid, but after watching his film.......I see why he's almost a four star DE. He's got one of the quickest first steps I've ever seen from a high schooler and he is also very physical.

I heard all this earlier. That would be huge to get Hawthorne even though if UT would have just moved faster he would have picked us already. I think he really likes us and if they have a good in-home visit, that would be something else....

Earlier on tonight, Hawthorne's mother did confirm that there has been communitcation between the family and the UT staff and they they are considering having a in-home visit next week, but that is not set in stone yet. They are from Tennessee and are big Tennessee fans so I'm sure the parents will encourage this meeting to take place. If they do have an in-home visit and it goes well(which with Fulmer and Trooper Taylor...how could it not), I think you would see him make an offical visit to Knoxville and cancel his Louisville trip. If that happens, who knows what will happen with Hawthorne, we might have a chance.

It would be nice, but I don't expect Hawthorne to take an official. He's been on a number of un-officials to UT and probably doesn't see the need in taking an official.

Just an FYI for all concerned. My sister called me today and said she met Coach Fulmer and Coach Slade in a Chik Filet in Newport News VA.(Ironic I know) I would assume both are there to visit with Brent Vinson the WR from Phoebus high school. I have heard he is visiting VA Tech this weekend, but that he is leaning to TN. Only time will tell. Stay tuned, the next two weeks are gonna be interesting.......

Why no big time RB? I mean I hear Dustin Lindsey is decent but I don't think he is in Coker or Hardestys league. I didnt think you could get enough RB's where Fulmer is concerned. Has there been a drop off in talent this year?

Minor is going to announce for Michigan tomorrow. We've also pretty much got Vinson locked up. Latest word from a VT source is that he likely won't even make it to VT this weekend. Vinson should announce for UT early next week. As mentioned before, Stephaun Raines will also announce for UT next week.....at his banquet on Thursday. We're also leading for DT Alleric Mullins, DE Victor Thomas, and probably a couple of others I can't think about right now. Thad Gibson is down to UT and OSU, and momma's on our side big time. OSU will also likely get Larry Grant, which will give them four or five linebacker committments. We're in a heated battle with Ole Miss for Duke Calhoun, I'm betting Orgeron has been talking a ton of trash about us to Calhoun......the Ogre will do anything in recruiting. We also have a good shot at landing Adam Patterson, Brandon Heath, Greg Davis(if we want him), Ramone Johnson(we lead), and even Nick Stephens. I think we're going to be doing pretty darn good considering the product we put out on the field this past season.

I posted it on a new thread guys, sorry I should have checked here first. Vinson is a good catch, Minor will be a loss. I see Warren got a visit from Papa Bowden in Alcoa, I dont live to far from him I bet I could have let his tires down or something If I had known, lol :p

We are rated in the 25-30 range right now because we have so few commitments. I honestly think, considering what happened on the field this year, that this will go down as one of the best recruiting efforts of Fulmers carrer.

What a load of bollocks. :bad:

Fulmer creates a 5-6 team that loses to Vandy b/c he was too tunnel visioned to see the year to year digression and then he barely pulls off a Top 30 class and he's done wunderful?
