Recruiting Surge?

Guessing if we get Gruden, we will be TOp 5 in recruting this year. Many recruits are already saying they would love to play for Gruden wherever he goes.

Dead period? I assume its like a moratorium on recruiting for a while?

Yes. Their are only certain times you can have contact with recruits. I assume this one is so families of these kids could have peace during the holidays.

Honestly, if we get gruden how big of a recruiting boost will there be?
:loco:
Well, we had a pretty good class last year, and since then it appears that most of the blue chip prospects have taken a "wait and see" approach. At the very least, we'll probably pull in those big fish. This includes 5*RB D. Green (maybe even snag D. Henry from Bama, as we were one of his finalists), WR Marquez North (6'4" with the same build as D.Rodgers), and 6'5" WR Rumph.

What I wonder is just how many 2-3* guys currently committed will be asked to look elsewhere...to make room. I hope we go after Asiantii Woulard, the QB who won the ESPN Elite 11. He really likes UT and has been waiting on an offer. Not sure if Ferguson will remain our QB take this year.

I wouldn't mind us taking 2 this year. Why? Cause we had 3-4 QB's during Fulmer's last year and with Kiffin...and none of them were SEC caliber players. Taking two good prospects help lessen the odds of having a bust on our hands.

I feel confident, if Gruden is the next coach, our recruiting will be on the same level with Alabama.

I would fully expect to sign a Top 5 class THIS year.

I don't think we get a top 5 or even top 10 class this year, even if Gruden is announced on Friday. But I think we get back into the top 20, which at this point would be pretty impressive in itself. It's too late and (thanks to Dooley) we're too far behind to expect to get any of the top guys to flip. It would be great if we could just get one (maybe steal one of Lane's five stars). But the following year, given more time, I'd expect we would be back in the top 5., easily.

Land Gruden and you just blew the top off Neyland. There wouldn't be a home game with less than 100K there. I wouldn't be suprised if you didnt see 80K+ at the O&W game.

Wrong. You land Gruden your automatically in the top 10 easy. There were a lot of recruits that we could have been in play with if we had a solid coaching situation.

I respectfully disagree. I think a Top 10 class at minimum, but I think it will be Top 5.

(Hopefully we'll get to find out! :) )

I doubt recruiting would see a huge jump this year unless a name like Gruden were announced very very soon. Waiting till mid/late December as some are saying just does not give us enough time to flip kids. The staff could take well into Jan/Feb to finish or longer. Kids will want to know who their position coaches will be. I also think while some kids would be interested in the Gruden hire, alot of them will stick to their current school of choosing as they have been committed for a while. People are going to want to see that Gruden can actually win in college before thinking he will be stealing recruits from Bama. We could finish strong with Green, North, Bell, Wilkins, Johnson, Crayton, and others still on the board.

Wrong. We had a lot of recruiting momentum late last year, and yet within the last week had two of our own (LB) commits flip to other teams. A LOT can happen between now and signing day. Especially with all the other coaching vacancies. Should be able to get in on some big names in Auburn's class, like DE Carl Lawson.
