Im just wondering, with all you intrested sports fans, that if any of you ahve any recruiting tips for a friend of mine. He's going to be a soph. in HS and is trying very hard to get a bball scholly. I know its tough, but the kid is very good, may very well start as a soph for varsity and will play with one of, if not the best players in the state of oklahoma. I know most of you will think, or say, that if hes good enough things will take care of themselves, but I dont htink thats the case. He goes to a very small school, and although they are very good, recruiters arnt exactly jumping to go there. Anyone with any experience or knowledge on how to get coaches or scouts to notice you would be appreciated. I cant wait for basketball season to see how he does, hes in a great situation. But anyone with any kind of tips, tricks, or tools to get a scholarship would be great. Thanks in advance.

I know most places has various off-season leagues and such. He may have to play at a lower level come winter but there may be some venue in which he can play with the best of 'em, even if it's not the actual basketball season.

Also, make a recruiting video and get it circulated. Get him listed on Rivals and Scout. See if there's a prep sports site for that state. An independent one though, not one of the sub-sites or Scout or Rivals.

If the coach is good he will take care of most of it. If not, he needs to get game footage together and make a mix tape, which i would be happy to do for him.

Thanks UTVOLFAN, we'll have to see how the season goes. Hes only a sophmore, but is probably one of the top 5 players on the team, but seniority is big with this team, so Im not sure how many min.'s he'll see. Thanks for some of the tips though guys, I can't wait for the season to start, and see him in action.

I got noticed at the summer basketball camps we'd take to UNC-Wilmington. I was from a very small hi school(1A) and we'd go to the camps to not only work on team work...but to also play the biggest schools here in the state 4A. Also, plenty of scouts watch the AAU teams and tourneys...kid needs to take part in both of these...he will be noticed.

Thanks GB, he'll def. play AAU and go to camps, just not sure which ones. We need to find an AAU team for him to play on, but should have no trouble, there are plenty in oklahoma. Not sure which camps to go to. I think the Oklahoma State camp would be a goodie, but not sure what other ones. Cant wait til basketball season.
