Buck Belue, UGA alumni, Booster and former player, used the air waves today to recruit D. Rogers.
He tried to hide it in a bit that he called, "Reasons NOT to attend a Particular College".
He gave three reasons. 1) "For the coaches" because they might leave at any time. Then used LK as the example. A direct slam on UT. 2) "Because they have your high school number available" We all know why he said this one. He even called Rogers by name after this one and explained that UT is offerring him #21 and UGA can not. 3) "Because your girlfriend is already there". He just threw this one in to make it seem like he was not PLEADING to Rogers to stay at UGA.

With all the crap that the NCAA puts out about fans, boosters and former players recruiting using public media. This is using 680 The Fan to beg him to stay. This might just deserve to be looked into by the NCAA.

I think his status as a media member exempts him from that. Not 100% certain but seems that would be true..

Hubbs can talk about recruits as a media member even though a UT employee. He can't mention recruits on Vol Calls for example but can on other radio shows....

Desperation is a funny thing. Especially when it involves losing a 5 Star Recruit to the college one state up.

This was not a "discussion" about recruits. This was a direct attempt to sway Rogers.

I do not think it is a violation. However, it was pretty low and desperate! Buck is a tool anyway! I am in and out of my car all day and homew by 3 pm. I am glad I no longer have to listen to his spew in the aftrenoons. Although, it is hard to listen to Perry's dumbarse talk about USC all the time in the morning. I prefer the CC show much better.

He was doing the same thing trying to get Kirby Smart to come be UGA's DC.... Not quite the same as the Da'Rick deal I now but Belue isn't above using his radio platform to yap up UGA to kids he KNOWS are listening to the show..... If I were a recruited athlete in Georgia it would turn me off because it's so transparent what he's doing.....

All good points.

I wonder how the rule reads. It is one thing to mention Rogers, but it is another to plead for his services, while basically bashing a rival school.

The best part of this is that when I read the thread title, I did not get this feeling of DREAD thinking we were the ones that committed it. I think Dooley is going to run a tight and successful ship. A month ago I would have assumed it was UT that committed it before reading. The way coach O recruits, it is very near lack of institutional control.

That is why I used a question mark.
So, I can put you down for a "NO". Check

I don't know why I like this post so much, but it strikes me as funny.

Also, I didn't realize that Hubbs is an employee of the University. Did I read that correctly?
