Recruiting?

I follow football recruiting fairly closely, but not basketball. My question is commited/signed for us, and how good do y'all think they will be.

Chris Jones and Kevin Ware. Both are good guards IMO. Chris Jones looks like a really nice play maker but had some school issues so hopefully he can or has got his grades up. Ware has kind of fell off the radar this last year but was a lot higher ranked when he first verballed to UT. We need big men and I think were in the running for a couple.

Shaun, I like your optimism and I agree with your opinion above, but one of our recruits already said confidentally he is DEFINITELY not coming to Tennessee and leaning towards Louisville if Pearl is fired. I'm assuming this is Chris Jones, but I am not sure. We will release them from their scholarships if Pearl is fired, so I wouldn't count on having either Ware or Jones if Pearl is let go.

I think Ware would still come but maybe wrong. I could see Jones heading north.

I agree Shaun, I think Ware may still come with a new coach. Jones is as good as gone if he was the one who said that and IF Pearl is fired. I'm assuming nothing until Hamilton announces it. Jones seems like a major academic liability anyway, but the kid can play and we really need him in our backcourt next year.

My biggest concern is what's going to happen to Stokes, the 2012 memphis recruit. I think we had him in the bag, but things may change now.

We lose Bruce. We lose all recruits for 2012.

Not true regarding some of the 2012 recruits, Stokes has bigger ties to Tennessee than Bruce a) his brother, who is a UT student b) his best friend Cameron Clear, we all know who he is. We will be in it for Stokes signature with a new coach and Stokes is the biggest catch on our 2012 board.

Yeah. I think we have a solid chance with Stokes as long as we don't get hit too hard.

Based on Pearl's recruiting recently except with Harris; I really don't see how losing those two is any big deal. I believe it is safe to say that if we hire a high profile replacement they would have some recruits they could bring.

It's a big deal when thats all we have on offense.
