anymore news on this... think we should have a stick just for this topic getting close to that season...

right now on the offensive side of the ball things look extremely bleak. it seems our crappy offense is finally hitting home in the southern states as alot of the top talent seems to be heading west.. i have a bad feeling this will be fulmer worst recruiting class ever. he usually gets off to a slow start, but i have never seen this early so much of the top talent cross tennessee off there list.

Record really doesn't matter that much to recruits believe it or not. Yeah being 6-0 helps a lot, but they usually care more about things like playing time, the school and the atmosphere,academics, and how comfortable they feel here. I could care less if we have a top 25 recruiting class if we don't have coaches who can develop them. I mean damn man it's a little early to say we are going to have a bad recruiting class. Last time I checked Oklahoma is having a horrible season, at least we're still ranked in the top 25. Oklahoma currently has the #9 recruiting class, while Miami is in the top ten in the country but is tied with Illinois for the #21 recruiting class. We currently have the #20 recruiting class.

have 3 te commits kinda a lot for one pos.. u think they will change pos... if u had to name 2 or 3 pos of need... what would it be

We need WRs and LBs the most. I think we're recruiting them the hardest. We're losing most if not all of our defensive line to the draft, so I think DL are a big priority 2

Actually, they have stated that DL is not a big priority. The back-up DL we have is amazing. We still have 4 quality DL behind Mahelona and Harrell. Quit crying over this recruiting class, especially this early. The two areas that UTK has decided are in the biggest need are WR/LB/TE/DE. And, in terms of those positions UTK is in great shape. We signed a huge class last season and are being picky with a limited amount of schollys to hand out. Our LB group that we bring in will be the best in the country (you can book it) and our WR group will be one of the best in the country. We have a couple big time prospects that are very interested in UTK and a one from Texas that has already basically committed. Those TE/DE athletes we have already gotten are very good. Especially, the Fisher kid. Not to mention we have Mapu coming back as part of this class. Throw in a couple big name OL we are going after and this class will be very good.

no one is crying! but anyways... i think WR is a somewhat needy priority for us. We have some young ones already and a bunch will be coming back. there are alot of DL behind the first team. TE is a needy position but we have commited three already so that should be fine. LB is a very need place! Marvin Mitchell and Jerod Mayo are the only ones i can think that will be there. And there sort of unproven.

Didnt think he would be allowed back at UT? That clearinghouse mess became really confusing. Someone set me straight with that ordeal please.

don't really know, but I'm pretty sure he'll be back on campus in Jan.
Does anyone know- is Slick Shelley gonna get a redshirt? Can't say I've seen him on the field at all..

Our problems with TE is not talent or numbers; it's that we don't use the position well enough. Yeah, we threw to Chris Brown once or twice vs. Bama, but we had another TE, Justin Reed, who never saw the ball. He had an amazing, diving TD catch vs. Florida last year, then he got hurt, and we haven't thrown the ball his way since.

Part of the effectiveness of a two-TE formation is throwing to both of them, so that the D has to account for both if they go out for passes. You can really thin-out the defense in the middle of the field if you do it that way.

dont mark my word on this... but i believe slick shelley has played this year some. I saw number 11 in there one game cuz my exact thoughts were what the hell is he doin in there. Maybe double check but im pretty sure he has played in a game.

The clearinghouse did not clear him and if he would have attended classes at UT he would have been ineligible to ever play at UT, so he went back home to retake the test and come back in January.
