I have been looking over they guys with verbal comm. to UT. All but 1 are defensive players. I am starting to wonder if the offense will get any really good recruits next year. What if the offense struggles again and thats what these kids are waiting to see. Then we are in the same boat. I mean maybe the defensive kids are comm. early because its Monte Kiffin. IDK. I just hope we pull out of this. It is prolly to early to start worry about 2010 anyway.

All I am saying is that if you look at the offensive guys are our lists that are looking at UT we are pretty far down on most of their lists. I understand it is early to be talking about the lack of offensive kids coming in. But it is something we all think about.

We weren't on Bryce's, Janzen's, or Nuke's list nearly this early last year, just wait.

They will come.

How many Superbowls have been won by defense? We are not going to win shootouts with teams like Florida and will need stout defense to beat them.

I'm also expecting Eddie Gran to have no problem picking up some offensive skill positions from S. FL and there should be multiple OL commitments in June. Also, expect Frank Wilson and Coach O to pick up some offensive talent from the LA/MS area.

The only big question I have is which QB we are going to get. I could see us not picking up a lot of QB interest until more OLs commit and they see what the offense looks like on the field.

I agree. Once some of these players get a better idea of what our offense will look like we will begin to see some more commitments. We are going to be just fine.

If Lane Kiffin can recruit, there should be no problem with having an offense.

most of the highly skilled offensive guys commit late and like the whole recruiting process and the attention they get... if i was one of them i would wait to see how this offense plays and to see if we get a qb this class once that happens im sure they will come and commit... i like the direction this class is going with all the commits in the trenches

We are so far down on a lot of recruits list because they are in alphabitical order.

If I could pick one position group that I want future UT teams to be dominant in it would be the defensive line. So I'm pretty excited about the recruiting start. I suspect there will be some under the radar offensive lineman that once the coaches see them in camp in June they will make offers and get commits. They definitely need OL that fit a certain mold and that might be tougher to evaluate on tape.

Like all UT fans I need Pepto when I think about our QB situation but that has as much to do with 2009 as it does recruiting.
