Reds or Braves

According to Vegas, it's the Braves. But I think the Reds have better odds to make the playoffs at this point. The Phillies are nipping on the Braves' heels and the wild card is still pretty contested.

It depends on Derreck Lee, IMO. The Braves' pitching is better than the Reds', but I think the Reds' lineup is less likely to get shut down in the playoffs than the Braves' -- unless Lee starts hitting the ball like a legitimate cleanup hitter. It's a coin flip otherwise, but if Lee hits then I'd have to think the Braves have a bit of an edge.

Postseason baseball is a crapshoot, though. Anybody can beat anybody in a short series.

I'm leaning toward the Reds but anything can happen. I didn't forget about the Padres, Giants, Cards or Phillies but the Reds and Braves have a lot of fans on this site.

I think home field advantage will play a huge role either way.

Who would have thought at the beginning of the year on Sept. 1st, that the Braves and Reds would be tied for the best record in the NL?

I might have believed the Braves could sustain due to their pitching, but I really thought the Reds would fade.

I remember reading someone, I think it was on ESPN, that followed the Reds in spring training, and they guaranteed a playoff berth for the team. I've joked with some people in my office about it all year, and low and behold, whoever it was knew what they were talking about. I need to see if I can go back and find that article.

I hope one of the two make the Series. I'm obviously a Yankee fan, but have followed and respected both the Reds and Braves my entire life.

With that said, the Braves most likely have the better shot because of pitching. Both have question marks, but who doesn't at this point?

Chapman could be a nice set up man for the Reds if they don't expose him too much before the playoffs.
