Yes, it has been a very horrible season on and off the field, but maybe it was needed to get rid of a lethargic coaching staff, and show the players that not everything is talent, you need to work to have anything. Again a horrible season, but one you can reflect on. And wish to God that this never happens again. :banghead: :mf_surrender:

UT's offense finally hit rock bottom! I think it's a shame CPF allowed it to get to that point before doing a flipping thing. JRS was the sorriest ol coach in the SEC. The wr's coach obviously wasn't too far behind & our offensive scheme is 30 YEARS old! And if you've not noticied how lucky we have been in several recent games against crappy teams you are really wearing some pretty thick orange goggles. For years now there has been very little improvement from 1st game of the year till the last. In most of those close games, our superior talent was responsible for victory rather than coaching savvy.

I believe Cut will be a definite improvement, but shortlived and won't move us to the next level. Currently, next level would be becoming a real contentor in the SECE.

Shamefully Fulmer let UT's coaches become stagnant, lazy, unimaginative and over paid. It now is soley in his court to turn it around...I hope.

Quoted from Mark Wiedmer, Chattanooga Times Free Press...

...asked to sum up the season, Fulmer fell back on the football plays rather than the questionable attitude of the football players who may have been behind them.
"Maybe if we make a few plays," he said, his voice trailing off. He then briefly paused, rose from his seat and groaned, "Aaaugh!"
It was the perfect ending to a far from perfect season.

I'm going with Fulmer on this one...

Aaaugh!!!

I just can't believe that we started out ranked 3rd in the country, and finished 5th in the SEC East.

Well, 5th in the East -- that's really 9th or 10th in the SEC -- was pretty tough to imagine.

We did, however, finish out of the top 25 in 2002 after starting the year ranked 4th. So there is a precedent for this kind of thing.

Well, I guess all you can do is laugh about it now. I don't really know what happened this year but there are plenty of lessons learned, like you can't always be good and never use the 2 quarterback system again!!!

What is the worst thing is waiting all summer long for football season with great anticipation and being treated to this dissappointment.

"Dead ball foul; Falsestart; Five yard penalty; Repeat down."

"How did he miss that? It hit him right in the numbers."

"That pass was just a bit high."

"Wow! He came right into the backfield unblocked."

"Who the heck was he throwing to?"

"Fumble!"

This season reflects this team hitting bottom, which has been sinking since the NC game. It's a shame it has taken this long for anything to be done about it.

Painful, disturbing, distressing, mindboggling, insomnia causing, heart-wrenching, gut-punching, sickening, and these were the good things about this season.

This happened to me Wednesday: My brothers and I were coming through Kentucky. We stopped at a service station for gas and were browsing inside. We were looking at the many UK hats, tees, etc., and I remarked "Who's UK?" The guy behind the counter said a member of the Elite 5. In other words, one of the teams that lost to Tennessee. That summed it up for me.

Gonna be much better in '06, though.
