I have some thoughts about the 2023 football season. First of all I love Joe Milton III. He has been a faithful vol and has an incredible attitude. I was a sunshine pumper of his last year. The past 2 games have given me a pause. He was excellent in last years bowl game, adequate in our 1st game and modest in our last game. His big test will come down to the Florida game. Of course I will be pulling for him. Frankly he looks like he is overcoached or tight about something. I will always respect him as a true vol. I guess we were spoiled by Hendon Hooker, one of the greatest Tennessee quarterbacks of all time. Austin Peay came to play and the score does not reflect the parity they demonstrated. They may have burst our bubble and done us a great favor. We can still have a great season. Games might not come as easy as we anticipated but we can still have a memorable season.

I used that nomenclature just to assure you that unlike many of these posters I do not claim to know much about football. I just love the vols and I love the attitude that Joe espouses. Football can be an analogy for life and there might be things more important than winning. I believe Joe Milton reflects these values. He stood by his roommate Hendon when he took over the quarterbacking last year. We were spoiled by Hendon's rhythm and touch passes. Joe might be a different quarterback in the tradition of many good Tennessee quarterbacks in the past.
