Liberty started the refund me page for Kaden Salters performance today against Oregon. Liberty and James Madison should have played so one of them could have been able to lay claim to NATIONAL TITLE

More evidence why G5 schools shouldn't get an automatic playoff spot.
Not necessarily, it’s evidence of how the committee ranked the wrong G5 team highest. UCF beat Auburn and gave LSU a run for their money during their little run, Tulane beat USC last year, we’ve seen Boise win BCS games. SMU doesn’t win this game either but I guarantee it’s a better outcome than what we witnessed. They would have at least faced P5 teams prior to today, unlike Liberty.

Yeah, Oregon would do that to many college quarterbacks . I think they enjoyed going 13-0 with Salter. Not sure why they’d expect to even be competitive against Oregon.

Everybody is beating around the bush instead of saying "Yes, strength of schedule does matter". It matters a lot.

Oregon has two losses - both to a team playing in the National Championship game by a combined total of 6 points. Many Oregon is just that good rather than Liberty is that bad

If they’re going to get an automatic bid there has to be some stipulations. I think you need at least 1 win versus a top 50 Power 4 school and a SOS schedule in the top half of the country. Liberty’s SOS was dead last in the country.

Maybe, say that to qualify, the SOS has to be in the top 50 or so.

To claim a natty they would have to be voted #1 by a recognised poll. With the winner of UW and UM being undefeated, that wouldn’t happen.

Schedule 2 hard and 8 cupcake teams, destroy cupcakes and get killed by hard and you get into CFP-12. That is why it should be strength of record not schedule otherwise in the cupcake ACC a 1 loss Clemson and Miami both get in over a 2 loss UT that only loses to UGA and Bama. It just doesn’t make any sense.

Exactly!

Their most difficult game all season was against New Mexico State, which Sagarin had rated as the 91st best team in college football.

91st best team!!!!

We would have been 13-0, too. So would Texas A&M. So would Kentucky.
New Mexico State whooped the hell out of Auburn.
