16 region sites were announced.

Three SEC teams are hosting (South Carolina, Florida and LSU) but 5 ACC schools (North Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina State, Miami and Florida State)

I'm not casting stones here but do the number "1956" not mean anything to the committee?

The northern team of the moment that the NCAA is propping up is Purdue as they get to "host" a region in lovey and scenic Gary, Indiana. Why could the same affirmative action not be given to Kentucky who has a higher RPI? Delaney's *****ing has apparently got the B1G a region they don't deserve.

We'll see this week how many of the 3 SEC hosts are going to be national top-8 seed. I suspect only 2 (Florida/LSU)

Kentucky, Arkansas and Vanderbillt will be #2 seeds at some region sites. I see Vanderbilt likely at Purdue.

Purdue deserved it. Should have been Kentucky over Miami. The chairman of the selection committee was on the SEC championship game today and said in some cases, the host team isn't the #1 seed. So it could be Kentucky as a #1 seed at Miami.

Sounds like the women's basketball bracket.

This is another prime example of why the college football world does not want or need a committee to determine the pecking order of a playoff. The politics and personal agendas make me sick. BCS rating or nothing. Should be a similar system for basketball and baseball. Set the criteria, crank up the computers and polls, and live with the results.

8 teams in. 2 are national seeds but Florida at #1 and South Carolina at #8 are paired to meet in the first game of CWS if both advance. LSU is #7 seed

Vanderbilt goes to NC State
Kentucky goes to Gary, IN
Mississippi State to Tallahassee
Ole Miss goes to aTm (#3 seed)
Arkansas goes to Houston

So all the non-hose teams at #2 seeds except Ole Miss

Florida counter region is NC State
South Carolina's counter region is UVa
LSU's counter region in Miami (great draw. Miami's region sucks)

It looks to me that Miami has some compromising photos of people on the committee.

By the way, Texas did not get in.... A lot of bubbles were burst by upsets in conference tourneys.

Potential South Carolina and Clemson match up would be fun.

UK will have their hands full against Kent State's starter David Starn. Dude is absolutely filthy. And their number 3 starter is a transfer from UVA that sits 92-95. I think they have a legit shot of winning that regional.

UK had the winning run on third in the 10th and tried to squeeze.

S. Hoagland reached on a fielder's choice to pitcher, bunt (0-0); Z. Zellers advanced to third; L. Witt out at home p to c.

Former Halls player Paul McConkey just barely missed hitting two game tying HRs in the same at-bat. Worked a walk with one out.
