Miss St fans appear to have made the trip (by the sound of the cowbells) but not sure about Illinois. They aren't a football school, and it's a much longer trip for them to get down there.
It’s a game on a Monday where everyone has to go to work the next day, all the way down in Tampa, and one of the teams is a comparatively smaller brand from over 1000 miles (a 15 hour drive) away. It’s just really not a great overall combination of situation for this type of bowl game, unfortunately (though I would venture to guess it’s probably the first part having the most weight/impact today).
While cooking breakfast this morning I said Go bulldogs. My daughter looked at me and said "gross." I then explained which dogs I was cheering for and why. Ha!
