I think most of us would consider .500 in the SEC a huge success this year. Looking at our schedule, it might prove more difficult than first thought. I think we need to sweep Georgia and Alabama to have a shot.

Without question UT is significantly improved and a fun team to watch and the years to come are going to be exciting. I just hope we don't let to many SEC games slip by this year when we have the opportunity to win one.

@ Missouri, Won Series 2-1
Aubrun, Lost Series 1-2
@ South Carolina, Lost Series 0-3
Vanderbilt, Won Series 2-1
@ Georgia
Alabama
@ LSU
Kentucky
@ Mississippi State
Florida

Judging from last 2 weekends, I think a huge hunk of the SEC will be at or near .500 at the end of the season.

Especially since UGA and Arkansas will be improved by end of season.

It's going to be really hard for anyone to sweep.

Only the "grinders" will survive.

Would be huge to be 3-3 over the next two weekends but Vols have to avoid sweeps on both weekends.

yes, 3-3 would be a huge win for the Vols in the next 2 series and I agree with fryeguy, a lot of teams are going to be bunched together and 1 game could be the difference in 4th or 9th place in the standings.

Now 5-7 in the SEC. I don't expect a sweep at Georgia next weekend as they are playing much better however I do expect a series win, 2-1.

That would put UT at 8-8 and a very realistic shot of .500 or better for the season.

That would make us 7-8, wouldn't it?

We're certainly in the thick of things right now. Winning at least 2 of 3 next weekend in Athens would be a nice springboard into the second half of the SEC schedule.

My bad, math was never my strongest subject. However I still like our chances at 7-8 after next weekend of achieving .500 or better.

I agree. It's going to be a fun race to watch.

Would love to see 4-2 or better the next two weekends. I think something changed in this team Saturday night and nobody will want to play them the rest of the year.

I hope you are right. A lot of confidence and momentum can be gained from a win like Saturdays. Here's hoping pitchers start hitting spots while the bats start getting hot.

GBO!
