This photo still gives me chills, a set of turn out gear for every firefighter whose life was lost on 9/11/2001.

343 firefighters died that day, I’d like to see if we can get one share for every firefighter!! May we never forget!!!

I'll never forget where I was, what I was doing and how angry and sad I was that day and the weeks and probably months following. It changed everything.
I was a senior in high school, another teacher came running in our classroom and told my teacher to turn on the news. We all sat there in shock watching it unfold.

I was walking into class at UT as the second plane hit. I watched the towers fall on tv and couldn’t wrap my head around it. I remember the rumors of planes potentially flying into Oak Ridge. I also remember a Muslim family at my apartment building openly celebrating that day.

Did anything happen to that family?

I'm not asking because I think someone should have done something to them, just curious if anybody did do something.

No, but I think they got the message that something would if they continued. I think about 10-15 people converged on that vicinity within minutes of that happening.

Part of this seems fabricated...

I was also a Senior in high school and it feels very surreal now that we are a generation removed and teaching it to kids as lessons in history class.

When the Arizona blew apart, and our fleet at Pearl Harbor was devastated on 12/7/41 I guess they felt the same way we did, but it was worse for our generation because we didn't have a nation to hate on....just an ideology and obscure faces that also threw their sucker punch from behind.

Sorry, but if you celebrate that you are the enemy. If you openly celebrate the mass murder of nearly 3,000 citizens in this country then you get what’s coming to you. I wouldn’t blink an eye if those people gotten beaten within an inch of their lives. . They are savages that only respect violence .

Idk why this has hit me so hard this year. Like I’ve cried when I think of it. I was a freshman in college but was home for a funeral.

It’s hit me harder this year too and I don’t know why either.

My 6yo asked me last night what happened on 9/11. I can't imagine having to explain it to one in 2001

One of the surreal experiences as a sports fan happened that year though. I was living in AZ at the time and we played the Yankees in the WS. You weren't cheering against them it was more like we were all just cheering that the game still went on. Hard to really explain it

A friend of mine's wife was an elementary school teacher in Nashville in the Nolensville Rd./Harding Place area. There are a lot of Muslims that live in that area and she told him there were numerous kids smiling and laughing about it.
