Reminds me of those Mark Richt Ga teams

Really Good team that is a contender until their not.
Richt’s career was full of those. So close and then had a letdown along the way that just kept their season long goals out of reach. it is extremely early in Heupels career at UT and this years success was new to this team and fanbase.

Would we be satisfied if Heupel turned out to be another Mark Richt? I am pretty sure everyone here would say yes, a year ago.

Future is really bright in Knoxville. Let’s support our team and things will hopefully get better and better.

I'm having a hard time thinking of a comparable late season loss by a Richt team. I remember several where you looked back and wondered how Georgia loss 12-7 to South Carolina in Week 2 or something. Late in the season, they generally lost to someone good but they would have been in a better position if not for some inexplicable early season loss.
