TheHill.com - GOP says its stimulus would create more jobs

Citing a new study to back up their claims, House GOP leaders announced their alternative proposal would create as many as 6.2 million jobs, more than 50 percent more than the 3-4 million jobs that Obama says his plan will create or save.

they applied the formula of Christina Romer’s formula to come up with the figure. Romer is heading Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors.

Hard to say since it's coming from the House and the bill is already on to the Senate. Perhaps it will affect the Senate's version or the Conference Committee's (ultimate) version.

Not sure how legit it is but using Romer's formula certainly gives it some credibility and puts Obama on the spot since he's said he's open to all ideas.

I don't really like it. Too much $ involved.

I heard a news item today that I can't find a link for. The gist was that the current plan is 5 times larger (inflation adjusted) than what was spent after the Depression over a 3 year period!

Also, the CBO has estimated the interest on the current plan to run about $300 billion over 10 years!

Anyone beginning to think we should just take our lumps now?
