Looks like resting your players didnt end up working for most teams.
Dallas- whipped
Indy- whipped
Tbay- whipped

You guys think this had something to do with any of these teams losing. You cant take time off in the NFL. Those guys are beasts and if you come out rusty your head will get knocked off. Terry Glenn nor Marvin Harrison should have played. granted they are good players you just dont throw them back out there.

Marvin Harrison couldn't go. That's why he wasn't playing.

Terry Glenn had 2 procedures done on his knee. I doubt they said "Have the surgery in the regular season and just hold off training until the bye week before the Giants game".

i think it can be a good thing, especially if you've had some injuries late in the season or had to fight it out for the 1 or 2 seed. but when you wrap up home feild and a bye as early as some of these teams did, i think there is a definite concern by sitting for a week.

and i'm completely against bringing players back for the playoffs that have been out for the majority of the season.....i'll never forget 4 years ago, the Steelers brought back Bettis for a play off game after he finally got healthy, and moreover, after Amos Zerowe had been the horse that got them to the playoffs, he was virtually ineffective, the rod the bus all the way to an early exit of the playoffs that year.

i'll always think it's an advantage to have the week off, but you really can't view it as that in the playoffs. chances are the team you play in the divisonal round has been in "playoff" mode for the past 3-4 weeks. you on the other hand have been coasting for the same time span. we've had more SB participants from the w/c rounds of late than we ever have.

there's a reason for that.

I think the Pats surely would have rested some defensive players if not for the possibility of a 16-0 season. I'm sure they are really glad to have had that bye at the end of the season. They were starting to look worn out. I don't think it's that big of a deal to rest players.

well, you look at what the steelers did two years ago, what the broncos did in 97, what the giants are doing now, the colts last year, all of those teams came from the wild card round. and they won the whole darn thing.

when was the last time you had a 1 vs 1 or 1 vs. 2 in the SB?
