6 And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them. 7 The first sounded, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up. 8 The second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood, 9 and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died; and a third of the ships were destroyed. 10 The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters. 11 The name of the star is called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter. 12 The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.

Revelation 8:6-12

First Trumpet: Bombs? Possible Nuclear?
Second Trumpet: Comet or Asteroid?
Third Trumpet: Chemical or Biological Warhead?
Fourth Trumpet: Nuclear Winter

7 The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. 8 They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions. 9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle. 10 They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months.

Revelation 9:7-9

Fifth Trumpet: Helocopters?

Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." 15 And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17 And this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sat on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone. 18 A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths.

Revelation 9:13-18

Sixth Trumpet: Nuclear Holocaust?

If the book of Revelation is in chronological order, then the day of God’s wrath occurs three times (chapter 6, 11, and 16). I suppose you could say His wrath is three days long. However, a common sense reading of the scriptures does not support a chronological order. Thus, the “seals”, “trumpets”, and “vials” will overlap if you put them on a timeline.

God’s wrath is described in Revelation 6:12-17, 11:15-19, 16:17-21

Let’s examine these three scriptures. Each scripture has a distinct label:
Rev. 6:12-17 (6th Seal)
Rev.11:15-19 (7th Trumpet)
Rev.16:17-21 (7th Vial)

Rev. 6:12-17
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Rev.11:15-19
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.,

And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Rev.16:17-21
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

*NOTE 1: The 7th Vial is poured out at the Battle of Armageddon. We know this from the verse that introduces the 7th Vial. It says, “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”(verse 16)

When you read these three accounts of the wrath of God, some common elements are noticeable: Earthquake, Sun, Moon, Stars, Mountains & Islands, God’s Wrath, Great Voices, Lightning, Thunders, Great Hail.

It’s plain to see that the 6th Seal, 7th Trumpet, and 7th Vial are describing THE SAME EVENT.

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES

God’s wrath is also found in:
Matthew 24:29
Ezekiel 38:18-22

Matthew 24:29
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken

*NOTE 2: Matthew 24:29 reveals when God’s wrath occurs relative to the tribulation: IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION.

Ezekiel 38:18-22
And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.

For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.

And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

*NOTE 3: The subject of Ezekiel 38:18-22 is Gog and Magog.

CONCLUSION

The 6th Seal, 7th Trumpet, and 7th Vial describe both the Battle of Armageddon, and the Gog - Magog war. God’s wrath comes immediately after the Great Tribulation. The Great Tribulation, (which is the 2nd half of the final 7 years and also the 2nd half of Daniel’s 70th week), is the wrath of Satan. If the same event happens in three different chapters, by definition, the book of Revelation is not in chronological order.

WHAT IS THE ORDER?

Consider that the Seals, Trumpets, and Vials are three different stories, spanning three different periods of time. The Seals are the long story, the Trumpets are the shorter story, and the vials are the very short story. Each story ends with the return of Jesus at the battle of Armageddon.

The sad part is that your attempt at being funny sounds an awful lot like what Hal Lindsey has been pushing for over 30 years. And there are lots of people who believe every word of it. I think it was Lindsey who wrote a book called "88 Reasons That The Rapture Will Happen In 1988". Of course when that didn't happen, he followed it up with "89 Reasons That The Rapture Will Happen In 1989" :shakehead: .
