Review Rules?

I know it doesn’t matter now but since when you’re able to review a play after the ball was already snapped?

Have the rules changed that much?
Damndest thing I’ve ever seen. Call wrong on the field, review when they can’t review after the snap, F the the call again. It’s truly impressive just how inept they are.

Doesn’t make any sense. I could maybe understand if the whistle was right at the snap but the running back had gained 6 yards up the middle before they blew it dead. I feel like the sports world is out to ruin Tennessee.

I didn’t think the call on the field was correct, but I also didn’t think the replay was indisputable.

That was a little bit like being Alabama for a moment.

Looked pretty indisputable to me. I guess it could’ve been a catch somewhere in the multiverse where the laws of football and physics are different. If the glove doesnt fit you must acquit apparently

It wasn't even close to reviewable either.
I agree the opportunity to replay was over. And I can see how the ref on the field could make a bad call ( trying to look at his feet and hands at the same time etc) but the replay was not disputable. It was clearly not a catch in bounds.

I asked the same question last week @ Bama in middle of a play when they whistle dead for a review. I always thought once the ball snapped it was done but…

the timing was off. certain the call came before the snap but the official didn't blow the whistle before the snap... its just timing... I've seen that before, several times.

We're seeing things from officiating we've never seen before on a weekly basis this season.
Interesting, isn’t it? I absolutely hate being a skeptic, but the amount of missed and untimely calls really brings out the tin foil… no way you are that bad at your job and still have one, unless it’s intentional and you have cover.

If the ball is snapped before you blow the play dead, then you can’t review the play, period. A little public accountability would probably help to restore needed confidence.

I'm betting if you look it up in the rule book, once the next play starts, you can't go back and review. That's the way I've always understood it.

But since officiating is getting substantially worse every year (and nothing is being done to keep bad refereeing in check) whatcha gonna do?

You can't go back and review once the next play starts, but it happens every year.
I've seen it a few times this year, just not in one of our games until tonight.
I mean for DPI to be called, the pass has to be "catchable." That isn't strictly followed either. Never forget the OK game in Neyland when DPI was called against us when the ball bounced off the wall in the south end zone.
No consequences
