Both head coach and owner say the do not expect to see him on the field next season. Just a bluff or are they going to leave him on the island?

They should just pay the dude. What's his salary? $1 million? Revis had a helluva year last season and deserves a raise.
If the Jets let him sit this season, considering their expectations, they're crazy with a capital C.

Yeah I don't know what he is offering but if I was in charge I'd be doing everything in my power to keep him.

He deserves to be the highest paid CB in the league. Only problem is that Nmandi is overpaid.

I, for one, am glad to see owners standing up to these guys. Almost all of them are grossly overpaid. I would like to see a contract which is based on how you do on the field, not what you (or your agent) thinks you can. Minimum salary and paid for production.

So then you think EB at $36 Million is Overpaid?

If the Jets dont want to pay him, then I am sure the Skins will. Dude has plently left in the tank

not sure that's the only problem. champ bailey is making 13 mil this year, so he would be asking at least 15 mil if nmandi were not even in the picture.

i agree that nmandi is overpaid tho.

That would be an awful way to pay players.

I'm fine with the system the way it is. We're still not approaching MLB numbers, for the most part, with the League.

Besides, how would you run a production-based contract with salary cap? Would you find it fair to say that NO football players production is solely of his own doing? Don't better TEAMS have better offensive production numbers all around, even though the players may not be the best individually? To work under the salary cap, does that mean the best rosters in the NFL would have to get blown up every year?

Sorry for the Cowboy on Cowboy crime here, Dave you're a good guy, but I've heard this whole idea of a production-based contract, and its total garbage. NO this will not humble players.

Besides, you're taking away one of the biggest strategies needed to win a Super Bowl. Production-based contracts with a minimum for all would take away one of the biggest risks for the owners there is. No gamesmanship whatsoever. It would be totally pussified.
