Revised 2010 recruiting class...

Now that we know who's in and who's not I've come up with the following revised ranking (per Rivals)...

Just a couple of notes before I start:

1. This class includes any scholarship player that we brought in since the end of last season...that includes transfers and signees (i.e. I'm including Jackson, Gooch and Brewer)

2. When a player didn't have a Rivals rating I did the best I could...I gave Brewer a 5.7 because that's what he had when he was coming out of highschool...same for Jackson who was a 5.8

Here it goes...

Offense
QB - Bray 5.9, Simms 5.5, Nance 5.4
RB - Neal 5.8, Fugate 5.6
WR - Rogers 6.1, Hunter 5.9, Milton 5.9
TE - Rivera 5.5
OL - James 5.9, Stone 5.8, Pair 5.7, Fulton 5.7, Gooch NR
K - Palardy 5.5

Defense
DE - Smith 5.9, Miller 5.9, Jackson 5.8
DT - Clark 5.4
LB - Propst 5.6, Jackson 5.5, Crump 5.4
DB - Meline 5.8, Brewer 5.7, Sapp 5.4
P - Darr 5.5

That gives us the following...

5 star: 1
4 star: 10
3 star: 10
2 star: 4
NR: 1

I've programmed the Rivals scoring system into a spreadsheet and those numbers give the following...

Points: 1890
Ranking: 11th (based on last years rankings)

so we have talent on paper...

That always makes upsets more likely. I can't wait for football season...

Well, I'm sure other teams would have to do some revising too. We could be top 10 or 20th..who knows?

the only thing that bothers me is under phil, tn had many top 10 classes. however something always seemed to happen causing the class to never live up to the hype. arrests, grades and or whatever the case was at the time always hold back the classes from reaching its poten. give me the 2 or 3 stars kid that bleeds orange over the 5 star who is a me,me,me guy. the kid that bleeds orange would spill his guts on the field before letting down his brothers, the 5 star guy leaves the field with a hang nail (not wanting to lose the chance at the NFL).

Exactly, you don't know where we'd end up without recalculating everyone else's classes too.

Did Clark make it in? Haven't heard anything about him from what I've read... I thought I heard he didn't qualify

This is definitely true...i should have added a disclaimer about that in the OP....i definitely wasn't going to take the time to redo all the top classes

Personally, I'd rank Malik Jackson as if he's a 5* Juco transfer

He's got as much potential and skill as any Juco DE you will find.
