Rich Rodriguez

Don't blame Rich one bit. If an employer lied to me in as an egregious manner as the crew in Morgantown did to RR, they'd be lucky if I didn't burn the facility to the ground.

I don't hold much stock in this stuff. When I've taken jobs at other companies doing the same thing I would shred all my files too. Why? Because you know the second you step out for lunch other managers are going to be going through your note book, address books, contacts, numbers etc... I'm quite positive he did nothing wrong. Also, nobody from the AD, besides an unnamed source, has said anything about this. WVU isn't going to do anything about it, no investigations, etc.. So I take it with a grain of salt. Besides, there's no way, even if he was destroying illegal stuff he'd keep that stuff in his freakin' office desk at the school. Just more sour grapes.

It is an odd story.

I don't blame RR if he did do it.

Hi Justin,

Ya, I just think it's more muck spewed by angry people. I wouldn't want a new coach or coaches digging around my files, playbooks, S&C techniques. I also wouldn't want a new staff digging around in my recruiting past either, since they could find ways to play Rodriguez and his staff even more. Furthermore, since WVU hired RR's former assistant head coach, and re-hired his defensive staff I *REALLY* doubt that WVU would want ANY negative info coming out anyway, as it would have a direct effect on the staff they have now, since they all worked for, recruited for Rich Rod.

i blame him. he's screwing his players almost as much as the new staff by taking their files and records. his players don't deserve this treatment.

Why not? Who would you blame?

Blame it on the rain.

Players don't remember their own weight room and 40 time progress? Rich has behaved exactly as he should. If more coaches would lay the torch to the trash sitting in university president and athletic director offices, college athletics, as well as the schools as a whole, would be a much better place.

I doubt what Rich did is going to change any behavior of "trash sitting...offices". So why keep records if everyone can remember their 40 times and bench progress. Absurd.

When Ken Kendrick pulls his funding for the weight room expansion and several other projects in Morgantown, it will change not only the behavior, it's going to change the people in said offices. In the end, pissing off Kendrick is also likely to cost the governor his job. A player would only have to remember his progress. A coach would have about 100 guys to remember. They need the records. Players don't.

So what pissed Ken Kendick off? Rich leaving or Rich stealing the records? I am really assuming it was Rich leaving. Not sure where there was any need for Rich to steal anything. If he felt he was lied to, he could leave, which he did. Not only that, he got a better deal. So no need to go out like that. If he needed the records, make copies.

I'm pretty sure having the twits who run WVU right now calling his best friend a thief hasn't made Kendrick very happy. They're doing what pointy headed academicians and spinless administrators do, lie to a coach, then attempt to slander him when he leaves because of it.

I am not defending the administrators. Just not cool with the whole "stealing" thing. Perhaps it is insignificant.

Hat, forgive me for the elementary question, but what exactly did WVU lie to RR about? I missed this part of the story, thanks for filling me in.

They failed to make good on any of the myriad of promises regarding facilities, raises for staff, and other issues they made to keep RR from leaving for Alabama. This time, he didn't wait to be lied to, he just left. Now, the imbeciles are trying to slander him in order to deflect heat.

Thanks, I had no idea. I didn't keep up very close, in that case, I'd completely agree with you.
